When did you test negative post MC / RPOC surgery?

Hello all,

Just wondered when people tested negative post MC / RPOC surgery?

I had a MMC detected at a scan, baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had an MVA 7th Jan, blazing positive tests still 3 weeks later and confirmed RPOC so D&C went ahead 31 Jan.

I have done a few tests over the last few days and they are squinters, but still there all the same. Because they are barely visible (since Thursday) I expected that today it would be negative but it’s not. I wondered if anyone had a similar experience and how long the squinters continued for?

I wish I had the self control to not test, but given that I’ve had RPOC once and this has felt on-going for so long, I can’t as I just want to see an end to it now. I know 9 days post D&C isn’t long, but because my levels were already coming down and no longer dye stealers before I tested early. There was a big decline in the first week but now seem to be stuck on these faint positive results.

I was still a little positive for nearly two weeks after a D&C. Bled for over a week and then that died down then the HGC came down after that stopped

Thanks for commenting.

Was your D&C for RPOC or MMC if you don’t mind me asking?

I did stop bleeding last week on Thursday and that’s when it started to show the really faint line but started with a little bit of bleeding again today and no further decline on tests.

For RPOC after bleeding for 4 weeks. It all took a lot longer than I expected! Seems to have sorted it self now and I’ve had one normal period since. Hope yours goes soon- it’s hard to move on with it just not ending x

Thank you that’s reassuring to hear. I’m being scanned today to confirm whether the second procedure was successful so hopefully will know where I stand regardless of the tests.

I can cope with the decline being a little slower proving I know theres no longer any retained products!

Hi @KT199
I hope you get your negative test soon.

First MMC it took me 4 weeks to get a negative test following an MVA for RPOC, although the line was getting fainter. I bled every day for 4 weeks and did have a little bit more at the end so wondered if that was more RPOC.

Second miscarriage I had surgery under GA for RPOC (following first surgery) and it took 2 weeks to get a negative that time. (Very little bleeding post surgery).
