Rpoc with blood supply

Hi
i wondered if anyone else has had a experience with rpoc with a blood supply. I’m really worried. They said I could do a mva but I’m at massive risk of a bleed so would have to be done under general.

im going in to see the doctor tomorrow before I make a decision. But I’m terrified something will go wrong and result in never getting pregnant again.

Hello, sorry for your loss 😔

I just wondered what your outcome was and how you knew there was a blood supply? I’m asking as I had an MVA a few weeks back, with retained products confirmed yesterday and have been booked for a repeat on Friday. I did try medical management yesterday but not so much as a cramp so seems to have been unsuccessful also.

Hello. @KT199
Sorry for your loss and sorry that your going through this to. It’s awful.
So at the scan they told me it was highly vascular meaning had a blood supply. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known it had a blood supply. So was told I couldn’t have the mva awake. Needed to be in theatre asleep. It all went well as far as I’m aware it’s been 9 days since and I have stopped bleeding now. Still worry if they got it all. But fingers crossed. Dread the thought of this going on any longer. I really hope this is the last hurdle for you also. Sending love

Its horrible isn’t it 😔 so I wasn’t told mine was vascular, but know it is as I requested a copy of the scan report as I’d asked for the size ect and they didn’t know off the top of their head and it said on there. They have offered me MVA under local so I’m pretty worried now, unless highly vascular is different.

I’m really glad things went okay for you. Did you have an MVA prior to RPOC or was yours a little different?

Trust what the doctors think is best for your situation. I hope it goes ok. No I had 2 lots of medical management which failed and doing some watching and waiting.

I’ve spoken to a doctor this morning and she has said I’m more likely to have the products removed under general as they can apply a little more pressure, obviously increases the other risks a little more but said if MVA failed twice it would need to be done that way away. So I have said I will go down the general route to try minimise it happening again.

Can’t thank you enough for this post as without it I wouldn’t have called and asked more questions and been better informed. The lady on Monday was so unhelpful and wouldn’t explain any of it to me!

I’ve got my fingers crossed you get a negative test and all is resolved in two weeks, sending lots of love. Xxx

Im so pleased you spoke to them. They basically said the same to me. I was so scared to be put under but actually it was fine. I was sore for a few days but this week I have been feeling more comfortable and this is the first time I haven’t bled in like 9 weeks. So yes fingers crossed it’s over. I hope it all goes ok for you. I wish I could speed this process up as I’m desperate to start trying again xx

Thank you everything seemed to go fine yesterday I just hope this is now the end of it!

Nicol93 · 02/02/2025 11:13

@KT199 I was wondering how it went for you. I hope your recovery goes ok. My tummy feels better now but I still feel abit bruised down below especially when I sit down, I have no idea if that’s normal it’s been 13 days for me now so I might try ask my gp this week.

@Nicol93 Thank you. I felt fine yesterday but feeling so exhausted today, I’ve slept most of the day but clearly my body needs it so that is fine.

Definitely get it checked if you’re worried, I am sore at the moment but wouldn’t expect anything different so soon. Fingers crossed it’s nothing and you will be back to normal soon 😊 have you done a test as of yet?

Nicol93 · 02/02/2025 18:59

@KT199 I was so tired for a couple days. Just keep resting. I have done a test it was negative, my tests before were negative to tho. However it did show up in my blood test. I have another booked next week so fingers crossed it’s gone back down to 0 by then.

Keep me updated @Nicol93 😊

I tested today and it was still positive but the faintest line with almost no colour at all. The kind of test that in the early days of pregnancy would have you questioning if you was / wasn’t. So I’m hopeful this could be the end. I stopped bleeding completely 3 days ago but have been spotting with low stomach ache again today so not sure what’s going on, but so soon after the procedure I don’t think it’s anything to worry too much about.

@KT199 I am now testing negative and I had a blood test on Wednesday and my hcg is now 4 which is classed as normal range. I also have started brown spotting it’s been 3 weeks for me now so I wonder if this is a weird light period. I rang and asked my gp on Friday she said she would call me back tomorrow to see if I had any changes over the weekend but still just brown spotting with some clots. And same achy stomach and a little pressure down below.

It’s so annoying not knowing what’s actually going on with your body isn’t it? I guess the decline in HCG is a good thing even though it stirs up conflicting emotions.

I’ve got a scan Tuesday where they are going to confirm whether the procedure was successful or if there is still RPOC (I begged for one as it’s really affected me mentally and couldn’t wait 3 weeks again) so I am just hoping so much that they confirm the RPOC was fully removed, but I’m so anxious already!
