6 wks but measuring only 4 wks

Hi Just wondering if anyone else has experienced their pregnancy being two weeks behind, could this just mean slow growth or is it most likely that the fetus has stopped developing, I had no miscarriage symptoms, I retune to the hospital in two weeks for another scan, it’s going to be a long two weeks so any advise would be much appreciated.

Hi there, I had a private scan at around 7 weeks and was measuring 10 days behind. I was very sure of my conception dates as I was tracking and got my positive at 9 days post ovulation. I was very very very worried so a week later I went to a different scan provider who measured them bang on schedule. I’m not sure if he just “caught up” or if the measurements were off on the first scan but the sonographer explained to me that when they are so tiny it’s easy for the measurements to be off. My baby boy is now 10 months old! I’m thinking of you as I know the waiting is horrendous. I’ll have all my fingers crossed for you that everything is ok. Take it easy these next few weeks x

I have 2 friends who both measured around 2 weeks behind but both turned out absolutely fine. Take care and I hope the next 2 weeks fly by for you x

Hello, I so hope it's a different outcome for you, but something similar happened to me. I was 6 weeks pregnant and it measured 5. A week later I had another scan, it only grew half the amount it should've. The third week I had a scan to confirm the miscarriage. It was a missed miscarriage. But I have heard PLENTY of stories that the pregnancy was fine after it growing a bit slowly! Those stories helped me get through the 'limbo' stage. The wait was awful, I tried to keep myself busy by knitting, watching documentaries etc.., best of luck to you. I so hope it turns out well. X

Hey Guys, thought i’d give an update as I got the most incredible suprise today, had the 2 week follow up scan to find out there is a heartbeat and all is looking well tho still measuring 2 weeks behind the nurse didn’t seem bothered and changed my dates so i am now 6 weeks pregnant instead of 8 I still find this rather odd as I period and conception dates are exact so have opted for another scan in 2 weeks, any advise welcome Xx

Great news there has been progress!

I was in your exact position (and I know people have had positive outcomes), but sadly mine didn't turn out good at the next scan and there was no heartbeat anymore... I felt really hopeful after seeing the heartbeat twice despite measuring 2 weeks behind. But interestingly, the nurse told me that because it's 2 weeks behind where it should be based on period/ovulation, it wasn't a good sign and told me to prepare for the worst at that initial follow up scan (which sadly came true, and had a MMC at approx 9 weeks, with it still measuring 2 weeks behind). However, I've read that people have had successful pregnancies despite being behind at this stage.
