Period after ectopic

Just wondering if anyone has any advice as I had my tubes removed on the right side after an ectopic pregnancy on the 3rd December and there’s no follow up to tell you any information.

17 days post op I started bleeding (only when wiping lightly) it did get a little heavier but just more so on a small pad but still more so when wiping. It lasted 3 days. I assumed this was my first period, but quite confused as I know I need to ovulate first before this and from what I’ve read online a period is supposed to arrive quite a few days later. This seems like a small window gap since surgery - 17 days to ovulate and have a period. Now I keep getting little twinges both sides, on and off breast ache since the bleeding.

So sorry you have gone through this. I had an ectopic this year (tube removed) and my periods have taken a while to get back to normal. I had a light period around 3/4 weeks after surgery but following this had a lot of spotting on/off. The consultant I saw said it can take a while for hormones to regulate. Agree with you, there is very little information on after care and what to expect! I found the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust forum really helpful x

Like the other poster when I had an ectopic and tube removal it took a couple of cycles for my periods to regulate and get back to normal.
