Hello,

After over a year of actively TTC our second baby, my husband and finally got our bfp. Unfortunately this ended in a loss at 9 weeks.
Since then, my period has returned (4 weeks after) and we are ready to start trying again. I am wondering when to start using OPKs again.

Before the miscarriage my cycles were 27/28 days and I think I ovulate late around day 19. Which meant a short luteal phase.

Can anyone recommend when to start testing again, or any advice on TTC again after a loss.
Thank you in advance,
x

Hello! I've fairly recently had a miscarriage and would like to start trying again. I also have a short luteal phase, similar to yours actually. We went privately for Profesterone pessaries, the consultant was great and gave us boxes of them. I got pregnant on my first try with them. It might be coincidence, who knows! But I'm certainly going to try them again this month. They were £30 for a box and they recommended to use them twice a day so I needed a box and a half through the 2ww (or less for us, I stop at 10 days and check with a pregnancy test). Obviously, I'm no medic! But it might be worth a try for you. Good luck 😊

Thank you, I've never heard of the pessaries. Did you have to meet any criteria to get them?

Sending positive wishes your way too!

Hey! Sorry I didn't see your message. Because I went privately, as soon as I mentioned a short LP they offered the pessaries straight away. The NHS only tends to give them out for IVF. But it stopped me from spotting and that month I was pregnant. Mightve been a coincidence, but I think it contributed for sure. Hope this helps x
