TW pregnancy loss

I recently went for my 6 weeks scan to say I was miscarrying. This was on Thursday of last week. I then started to miscarry on my birthday of all days and I had bleeding but nothing severe and extreme cramps that lasted the day. Today I’ve completely stopped bleeding with nothing at all. Is this normal? It’s my first time being pregnant and my first miscarriage so I’m completely in the dark to what is normal or not.

My birthday was Saturday for context

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I'm not sure you could say the bleeding has completely stopped, you might find it is on and off for a while longer. If you start to feel ill or anything do call up your EPU or GP for advice.
Here if you want to talk.

It doesn't sound like you've had much bleeding overall, less than a normal period? You might find there's more to come. It's really all over the place with a miscarriage. I would just be prepared for anything regarding bleeding just now.
Have you anyone looking out for you!

Yes less than my normal period. Pains have completely stopped now too

I would test and if it was postitive call the epu for another scan. A positive test and only small amount of bleeding could mean an incomplete miscarriage and you may need medical management.

Remember to take care of yourself 🙂

If it is still positive but lighter than you know the hcg is lowering, if its the same or stronger then i would contact the epu

cookielove · 02/12/2024 21:15

What did they see in the scan to say you were mc?

Ok. I’ve ran out of tests so I’ll grab one tomorrow. They confirmed a miscarriage on Thursday, Saturday morning it started and I’ve completely stopped bleeding now I just have a banging headache and feel sick

Did they tell you what to do if you didn't bleed after confirming MC?
Mine for example scheduled an appt 1 week later to come in to discuss options if I hadn't started to miscarry by then. If I were you I would contact EPU and ask for an appt to discuss management of MC as that doesn't sound like it's fully passed as yet.
So sorry for your loss - it's horrible, truly. Xx

I have bled for two days but not as heavy as my normal period?? The pain was intense. I’m just confused as they didn’t see a sack but confirmed my pregnant through hcg levels and my womb has thickened but no sack was visible at the time of the scan. I feel super sick and my head is pounding!

thank you I appreciate it xx

No shoulder pain?

No shoulder pain?

Nothing it was suspected eptopic but they ruled it out as such. I’m back at EPU for a blood test on Thursday to see if my levels are dropping

They didn’t see the sac or anything. I was confirmed pregnant by my hcg levels and thickened womb lining

That's good you have a follow up appointment. Though I'm sure Thursday will feel like it's years away.
