Does this sound like a miscarriage?

Hi all, I am 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant, due July 14th. On Sunday evening I had a tiny amount of bleeding, on Monday morning I had more bleeding (not enough to fill a pad, enough to cover a handful of toilet paper). Both times it was bright red.

We went to the maternity hospital emergency room and I had an ultrasound that showed a gestational sac in my uterus. They then did an internal vaginal ultrasound and found the gestational sac and an embryo.

The doctor said the heartbeat was "weak and slow" and that combined with the bleeding we should be somewhat prepared for it to potentially be early signs of a pregnancy loss. It's been 3 days since I last had bleeding and there's no sign of a period starting. I still have swollen tender breasts and have nausea.

We have a scan booked in for Monday morning and I'm hoping there are some other people who've gone through similar situations - what ended up happening?

I wouldn’t try and second guess as it can go either way. As difficult as it is, I would wait until the scan. Personally I always prepare for the worst, but that’s just my personality. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Yes , I'm afraid it's a wait and see . Try not to worry although I'm betting your wiping and looking alot . Try not to worry & hopefully things will be looking up for you . Take care.

You poor thing. The not knowing is awful. Like many people I've been there and once it was bad news and the next pregnancy I had a big bleed and went on to have a healthy baby. There is no point in any of us trying to tell you to relax and not worry as I'm sure this is consuming your every thought. Wishing you the very very best of luck.

You're so kind to check in. I have morning sickness and tender breasts and no bleeding since Monday. So I'm definitely getting my hopes up for our scan this coming Monday!

I have a friend staying for a week so that's helping distract.

We had a scan today and although they gave so little information they saw a heartbeat and it was at an expected rate and they have no concerns at all. The pregnancy also progressed a week and it was a week since the last scan ♥️

That's amazing news that's made my week for me. You must be so relieved and thrilled. Try and get some rest and catch up on sleep now as you've probably not slept or relaxed properly in ages. Also not something I did as I was a total eejit but if you need to take time off work then absolutely do. I continued to carry on as normal during my pregnancies and when you are stressed and worried you go on auto pilot and I wished I'd concentrated on me a bit more

How is everything going my love?

Im currently experiencing the same thing, I’m 7 weeks today and for the past week had on and off bleeding, heavier than spotting at times but never as much as a period, no clots and no pain either. Have my 8 week scan in a week and I’m worried sick that something could be wrong! Hope there was a happy ending for you xx
