Missed miscarriage

Hello,

I am sorry we are all part of this group 🙁. I am hoping someone could share their experience as I am worrying.

I had medical management for missed miscarriage three weeks and two days ago. The fetal pole did not grow past five weeks and three days and the gestational sac stopped growing at seven weeks. I should have been eleven weeks at the time of the medical management.

My pregnancy test this morning looked negative (possible very faint line). I will repeat the test again tomorrow. However, I am still bleeding. The bleeding seems to have picked up a bit recently. It is not loads of blood but I am probably changing my pad a few times a day and there is quite a bit of blood when wiping (sorry too much information).

Please could you let me know if this is normal and when your bleeding stopped? Also, how long did it take for your first period following miscarriage? It has been a difficult month 😥.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

My test was negative after my d&c
I bled heavily for few days, then like a normal period for a week or so, then monthly after that.

@2Sensitive Thank you for replying. That is reassuring.

Tests can be positive for several weeks because your body still is getting rid of the strong pregnancy hormones. Bleeding can be very different in each woman. For some a few days heavy then stops or others can bleed for up to 8 weeks and be off and on for a while. It is literally different in each body as it repairs itself.

I tested faint positive almost 3 weeks after I had passed the sac, I haven't bothered checking again yet. I only have a week and a bit of bleeding also.
I think because you had medical management for your mc it's highly unlikely you've got anything retained, and therefore would say to not worry about the bleeding. I've read sometimes it can take up to a 4 weeks to stop?!
With my previous mcs they all fit into a regular cycle length, this one I think is going to take a few more weeks.
Fingers crossed for you
