TW TMI! D&C

Hello

I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience with miscarriage, I had a D&C back in June and still waiting for my period to arrive, I believe it's nearly 16 weeks since having a negative pregnancy test so I am getting quite anxious, upset & concerned, (TMI) but I am wondering if my Estrogen levels are not balanced because every day since the D&C I get loads of EWCM and not just the usual around ovulation so that has me concerned also!

I had a private scan done and they could see I have some cystic spaces in the endometrium, so I'm not sure what that means but they want me to book in with my doctor which I had planned on doing as I was told if my period hadn't turned up by end of October go back!

Sorry for this being so long, just wanted to see if there was any similar experiences out there 😊

Definitely go see your dr again. My ob told me maximum 8 weeks is within a normal time bracket to have your period by after normal is around 4 to 6. I am 3 weeks post d&c and have ewcm this week and assuming I may see a period in around 10 to 15 days if I don't I will definitely be going back.

Hey! Thank you for replying, so I don't believe I have had Period after having my scan, I did have some spotting and a couple of times I wiped and there was blood but by no means a full blown period which I thought it was but the lady who scanned me told me about the cystic spaces and that I would have some spotting/bleeding with them so that's what has now made me question that "period"

Also my body tried to "ovulate" a week later so that had me thrown.

I feel so fed up and down and questioning everhing and I am starting to get a bit worried now, especially after the miscarriage went from bad to worse.

Definitelya trip back to the doctors is a must and see if I can get referred back to gynaecologist

100 percent follow up and insist you get the answers you need. You do not need this worry (especially if you plan to continue ttc) on top of heartbreaking loss. I'm praying my cycle goes back to normal so we can continue onwards and will not leave the Dr office untill they can put my mind at ease in this scenario.

100% agree, I feel I have been more than patient since the start of my miscarriage in May and ended middle June with a D&C, feel I have been let down by people who are supposed to be professionals so I'm definitely going to push this now.

Hope your cycles go back to normal soon 🤞🏽 good luck for the future x

Hi @JAYNETOOHIE sorry to hear about your loss and journey after. I had surgery after being diagnosed with a MMC in July. I had a negative test 2.5 weeks after surgery and thought great let's get back to normal so we can TTC again. I had a very light bleed at the end of August but not a healthy period. Then nothing. So I went to see my GP 10 weeks post - SMM. She referred me to an ultrasound and blood tests. I had the ultrasound on 16 October and results were thickened overgrowth with cystic lining, she suspected it was due to hormonal imbalance. I actually started heavily bleeding the day after and bled for 5 days. I'm hoping that was period flushing out the overgrowth of lining. I've got a follow up ultrasound for another look next week hopefully. I haven't had my blood tests yet. I was 13 weeks post surgery when my period came back (hopefully that was my period). I'm 39 now so I'm not sure that makes a difference but clearly my body has taken a while to kickstart again. I'm hoping it'll settle into a routine again now.
All this to say I totally understand your concern and hope you can get a GP to take it seriously. Please let me know how you get on.

Heyy! Aw thank you so much for replying with what sounds like a very familiar experience to me, I had some bloods done by doctor and they all came back clear, I haven't been tested for progesterone and Estrogen, not sure if they can test for that in bloods.

My ultrasound results sound the same as yourself and the sonographer did say this should resolve with my period but that seems to be non existent at the moment :-(

No one tells you about the struggles post miscarriage!

I will let you know my outcome x
