Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could reassure me about bleeding gushes post-miscarriage. A little context: Pregnancy stopped growing about 6 weeks. Carried till 10 weeks. Was due surgery this morning.
Started bleeding pretty heavily yesterday, was kept in overnight to be safe. Passed the tissue naturally this morning an hour before surgery was due. Had taken pre surgery drugs (which apparently can effect cramping and bleeding). Scan confirmed all tissue is passed and just some clots remaining. No surgery needed, which is good. Home now.
I was told things should ease off now, including bleeding, but that the pre op drugs may affect that. I've just soaked through a pad very quickly (a bulky hospital one) in a gush. I know I can just call the hospital and go back in if needed, but I'd basically like licence to relax from someone who's been through this. Are gushes quite normal on the same day post-passing of tissue? I've had a massive haemorrhage before from a cut artery on my cervix and it's left some trauma on my mind. I basically want to watch tv and forget the present, but I'm on alert and can't really relax. Any anecdotes/reasaurances (or even warnings) would be greatly appreciated.
