Anxiety for appointments during pregnancy

Hey

Does anxiety such as being really nervous for upcoming appointments and scans cause miscarriages?

Can this kind of worry lead to loosing baby around 12 - 14 weeks?

I don't believe low short period amounts of anxiety can harm anything longer term it can cause health problems more so for the pregnant mum. We are told nothing can cause a miscarriage it is very often due to a unvaible pregnancy from the start and any external factors may increase the chances

Thank you for your kind reply..

What if it last like a few hours? I get really nervous when it comes to appointments as I've been through many many miscarriages :(

The majority of miscarriages are caused because of chromosome issues or implantation issues, and pregnancy would never have been viable. There’s nothing you can do or not do about it happening. Don’t forgot Women have pregnancies in war zones and in terrible stressful situations. If your anxiety is unmanageable please speak to your midwife about it, but it sounds very normal, I had similar after a MC. If it helps, I’ve felt gradually better throughout the pregnancy

Thank you for your reply..

I had the nuchal test done at 12 weeks . Results came as normal ... but I miscarried not long after..

I only get nervous and worried when it comes to upcoming scans as I've had over 4 late miscarriages recently. I was on blood thinners for this pregnancy and also on aspirin but unfortunately I'm currently going through a miscarriage again :(

So sorry this has happened. Are you getting tests for recurrent miscarriage? Please don’t think it’s because you’re worried, I was terrified up til about 20 weeks pregnant and fortunately everything has continued, and so are many others, so it cannot be worry causing it.
