The weekend wait…

Nearly 5 weeks and started bleeding with mild cramps yesterday. Did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative but weird - the control line was v faint so I wonder if the blood mixed with pee contaminated it somehow, or it was just a dud test. Will try another tomorrow. Anyway, seems likely this is a miscarriage 😔 and I feel stuck in the NHS loop, waiting for call back from the EPAU, knowing there’s not much they can do but just wanting to speak to someone, never helps having a medical issue on a Friday/weekend does it. Just wondered what the process usually is - will they be able to scan me this early or bloods and wait? Or is a negative home test enough to confirm? Thanks for reading 🧡

Sorry to hear you’re going through this, hope you’re doing ok. It’s unlikely they’d scan at this stage as too early, most likely you’ll be asked to test in 3 weeks.
Take care xx

Sorry it’s rubbish. I had the same with bleeding over the weekend. Then had to wait for GP to refer me. Ended up going private in the end. I doubt they’d scan at 5 weeks, probably just ask you to wait for a negative tests.

Spoke to someone at EPAU who’s booked a scan for Monday - but at 5 weeks not sure what they’d be able to see… Still getting little clots (sorry TMI). Thanks for your replies and well wishes, it’s weird not really being able to/wanting to talk to people IRL. Can’t help hoping it’s still ok.

Hope you're doing well, how did it the epu go?

Lelongducanal · 11/10/2024 07:16

@Echomama Thanks for checking in. My pregnancy test was negative so that was that. Was a bit embarrassed to have gone to the epu, but think I just needed someone else to confirm it.
