APTT and aspirin?

I was hoping someone may be a little more knowledgable than myself on blood clotting profiles and be able to share a nugget of information if possible?
I’ve just had by second miscarriage at 11 weeks (first was last year at 9 weeks). The EPU did the standard “it’s bad luck, we can’t investigate until 3” so I asked my GP to do some basic bloods. I’ve had the results but no one has contacted me about them so of course I turned to google but haven’t really found an answer.
Most came back within normal ranges apart from my APTT in my clotting profile which was 1 second out of the normal range (it came back as 24 seconds and normal range was put as 25-37). Does anyone know what this might mean? Does this mean that my blood clots faster than it should and would Asprin possibly help this in my hopeful next conception? I appreciate this isn’t a forum for medical advice but if anyone has personal experiences to share I would be very grateful!

I hope you’re all doing as well as you can while haunting this forum and things work out for all of us!

Hi there, I had exactly the same scenario and to be honest my doctor wasnt at all worried by it. That said I now do take low dose aspirin as a precaution as my vast research suggests it could be helpful for many reasons.

Thank you so much for your response - I might just start myself on Asprin anyway to cover all bases.

Yes, no reason why not. Always take it in the evening though after food and with plenty of warm water and don’t lay down for half an hour after, to give it a chance to get through your system and not just sit in your tummy. Keep a look out for any aspirin related side effects. Good luck x
