Hi all, I have had 3 MMC all very different 6 weeks, 19 weeks and 8 weeks. all in the space of over a year.

The hospital have referred me to the miscarriage clinic, does anyone have any experience of the estimated wait time and what checks they do. I have an initial call booked on the 23rd October booked.

so sorry for your losses, its the worst thing any woman can go through once let alone 3 times💔 I was referred to the MC clinic in May after recurrent MC’s & i had my first appointment end of july. This was an initial call with a nurse who asked lots of questions about my health, partners health, family history, medication, any basic tests I had done by my GP (i had basic blood tests & ultrasound to rule out PCOS, endo- everything came back normal) They then said they would do some blood work and run specific tests testing for things like Lupus, blood clotting and a bunch more that I cant remember. I went and got that done and then they said the results would come back in 6 weeks and I would have an appointment with the gynaecologist which I did. All my blood results came as normal & they didnt find a cause or reason but they put a plan of action in place so if i was to get pregnant again i would call them and we would follow the plan given by my gynaecologist. Also I would get 2 weekly scans at 6,8 and 10 weeks to check on development & make sure everything is running well. Hope this gives u an insight into what your journey may be like. All the best🩷

Thanks for the reply

I had my initial call brought forward to this Monday they have booked my bloods and scan. But said that I have to wait up to 6 months for the consultation with the DR.

Did you get the genetic testing? As mine came back as no foetus detected. We have a karaoytyping genetic testing for me and my husband in mid November.

It feels like such a long wait!

They may start you on baby aspirin and progesterone in your next pregnancy.

So sorry to hear you've gone through this. I had my third loss when the first lockdown happened.
I then went through all the tests. What should have taken 6-8 weeks took 8 months. We then had a call with a specialist who prescribed progesterone and baby aspirin when I next got pregnant. He also told me to take vitamin D. I made a few small lifestyle changes as well to help me feel like I was doing everything possible. Three months later I was pregnant again. I followed the advice and had extra scans in the first 12 weeks (plus extra due to a surprising result of gestational diabetes).

Our little boy will be turning 3 on Christmas day.

Aww so happy to hear your good news!!

In my last pregnancy I was prescribed baby aspirin and progesterone and had scans as early as 6 weeks but still resulted in a miscarriage. Starting to feel a bit hopeless with it all.

Can I ask what lifestyle changes you made?

I have recently stopped drinking coffee all together and alcohol as well as sugar. And trying to lose some weight as I still feel like I have the weight from my 2nd MC.
