Hi I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I went for a private scan at 9 weeks 4 days at Window to the womb. They said they couldn’t find a heartbeat and baby only measuring 5 weeks 3 days. I can’t speak to my midwife until tomorrow but I’m wondering what the next step is. At window to the womb they said I’d have to wait 2 weeks for another scan… I just don’t want to wait that long for an answer.

I'm so sorry you are going through this - it's awful.

This is similar to what happened to me - went for a private scan at 10 weeks, but there was no heartbeat and baby only measured 6 weeks. They advised me to contact my local early pregnancy unit, who saw me for a scan the same day and confirmed the same findings.

Unfortunately, because growth had stopped at a really early stage, I then had to wait a week to confirm that the pregnancy was non-viable (because technically I could have got my dates wrong, but we all knew it was a formality). Then I was offered surgical or medical management, or to wait for a natural miscarriage.

There's an active thread about missed miscarriage where lots of people have described their experience, which I have found really helpful in the last few weeks.

So sorry you're going through this 💔 is there a chance you ovulated later than you think? I had similar situations twice and unfortunately it was bad news for me. I know how hard it is to wait for the next scan. They legally cannot call it a loss until they've scanned you a second time two weeks later. Hoping for a positive outcome for you ❤️

Sorry you are going through this. Contact your EPU, they should organise a scan for you ASAP and advise you. Don’t wait to book a scan with Window to the Womb, if there is anything wrong they can’t help you, EPU is for that.
