First period after miscarriage

Hi all
I had SMM on the 22nd July, for my 3rd MMC (was 10 weeks) and bled for a couple of weeks afterwards. Had a week gap, and then had another week of bleeding. EPAU said it was too early for a period after the procedure, so I’m not entirely sure it was.

i had a very faint positive pregnancy test on Friday last week, but started to bleed yesterday, albeit quite light. It got heavier for a short amount of time today, and crampy, but it has gone back to dark brown blood. Terrified of Ashermans syndrome, but I can’t help but think the worst after the hell we’ve been through. I have had 6 miscarriages in total in 5 years, counting this if it is a chemical.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @BloomingSunflower I'm so sorry to hear about your MCs. I was diagnosed with a MMC in July. Had SMM on 23 July. First pregnancy and they said I shouldn't worry about scarring if it's just the first procedure.

I wondered how you've got on? I had the lightest bleed for 4 days around 24 August. Then nothing since. Also terrified of Asherman's but from what I've read it's rare with MVA which is what I understood I'd had. But now I'm not sure whether SMM is different.
Hope you're doing ok x

Hi @WildFinch, apologies for the late reply. I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I hope you’re doing ok. It’s a horrible thing to go through, and I’m sending you love ❤️

I did end up having a proper period on 9th September. Mind you, this cycle has been much longer than usual, but I got a BFP at around 10dpo (Wednesday this week!)

Is there any way you could get an appointment with the GP? Maybe they’ll refer you for a scan?

Oh @BloomingSunflower that's such good news! Congratulations!
I was referred for an ultrasound this week. They said my womb lining was thickened and cystic. Probably due to hormonal imbalance. I started bleeding yesterday and because they're worried about retained products they've asked me to go to A&E. I think it's my hormones kicking in and I'm having a period again. So I'm still optimistic it'll sort itself out.

Thanks for checking in and again so many congratulations , it's so nice to hear a positive story.
