Ovulation after a miscarriage

Hi, I’ve spent hours searching for some kind of answers but Google keeps giving different answers. I had a d and c procedure at 13 weeks on the 16th August due to a missed miscarriage (baby’s heart stopped at 7 weeks). We are desperate to conceive again and I have been testing for ovulation and had a positive on CD 6 (which I expect is false) and another at CD 11 (first pregnancy was positive ovulation on CD 13). I have taken a pregnancy test to make sure it is negative from the miscarriage and this is now super faint. Can this be a true ovulation? Has anyone else had any experience with getting caught before their first period?

I’m so sorry about your miscarriage Flowers

Did you get a negative pregnancy test after the D&C?

It could be you had ovulated and are now pregnant, or it could be that you have some retained products of pregnancy from the missed miscarriage.

For absolute peace of mind, you could ask your early pregnancy unit if they would do a serial HCG blood test (there are 2 EPAUs near us, only one of them will do the blood tests). Maybe they are available privately?

Otherwise, repeat the urine tests in a couple of days and see if the line is darker.

Has your EPAU offered early scans in your next pregnancy?

When you say CD 6 and 11, is this counting from the d&c?
Although it’s possible, I would imagine on these days the hcg is still leaving your body and until it does you are very unlikely to actually ovulate.
I took a strip pregnancy test everyday for 2 weeks from my d&c until it was finally negative (was surprised it took this long!) then began daily OPKs and took 2 weeks from there to get a real positive on that.
Many people conceive on their first cycle post d&c but the chances are not really any different from any other cycle.
Good luck OP and sorry for your loss!
