Tampons 3 weeks after ERPC

Hi all,

I had an ERPC on the 23rd July and stopped bleeding a week ago. I’ve had fresh red bleeding this morning, and wondering whether I could use a tampon. I’m abroad at the moment so I can’t contact my EPAU, also wondering if it’s my period but surely it’s too soon for that? Just want to enjoy what’s left of my ‘healing holiday’ ❤️‍🩹

Sorry to hear you’ve gone through this, I’m in a similar situation. Had surgery 16th July and on 9th August I started bleeding, went on holiday abroad the next day. I’ve taken it to be my period as I had all the tell tale signs of ovulation about 11 days prior. There is a little paranoia in me though thinking it’s too early as this is my 2nd mc, and when I had surgery for my 1st one it took about 8 weeks for my period to return. I’ve gone for it though this holiday and worn tampons, just been super on it with changing them, I just want to get on and enjoy my holiday after everything to be honest! Wishing you all the best xx

@OneDayHope sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I rang EPU when we were docked somewhere (I was on a cruise) and they advised I didn’t use them, but I did anyway, and like you, was hot on changing. Like you, just wanted to enjoy my holiday! I have a feeling it wasn’t a period, as I still have a very very very barely there line. I’m still bleeding a little now but it’s definitely tailing off.

Glad to hear the bleeding is tailing off! My bleeding only lasted 4 days thankfully so not too much of a pain on my holiday, I’m taking it to be a short first period post surgery but any more and I’ll be giving the hospital a call. It’s such a draining process, my holiday was so needed! I hope you’ve managed to have a fab time on your cruise! Xx
