MC 3 weeks ago, bleeding after sex?

Hi everyone,

I had a MC at 6 weeks around 3 weeks ago. I stopped bleeding a week ago and been feeling fine since and had sex from then. However last night after protected sex (I.e with a condom) and afterwards I noticed some pinky/red coloured blood on my partner and also when I wiped (sorry if TMI). No pain whatsoever and the sex was pleasurable. Is this normal after a miscarriage?

I'm sorry you went through a miscarriage.
Temporary hormonal changes (eg. cervical ectropion) on the cervix after any pregnancy can sometimes lead to postcoital bleeding. In the absence of any other symptoms such as pain or offensive discharge etc, I wouldn't be too alarmed at this stage. However, if it continues, or any other symptoms crop up, I would book a routine GP appointment to be assessed.
Your GP may decide to examine you, and may offer swabs to rule out infection, including STIs if relevant.
Hopefully you're also up to date with your smears?

I also experienced bleeding after both miscarriages. The first was a surgical management and the bleeding after sex didn't start straight away. I went to the GP and she recommended using lubrication which definitely helped. After my 2nd miscarriage which passed naturally I also bled after sex a couple of times. I would agree that if everything else seems OK and you're up to date with smear tests then it's not a cause for concern. I think there's just been a lot going on down there and it takes a little longer to heal than you think, especially due to the increased hormones etc
Mine did settle after a few weeks, I hope yours does too x
