Failed medical management. Any one else?

I was wondering if anyone else had been through failed medical management?

I took mifepristone and misoprostol. I know RPOC can be common, but I went for a scan today and the sac and fetal pole were still there 😔 I had the medical management at hospital. I did question them when they said I could go because I hadn't bled much. However they were seemingly satisfied that I had passed the pregnancy.

This has been such a traumatic experience. It was my first pregnancy after 3 years TTC. It been so long and drawn out.

Anyway I'm booked in for another round of misoprostol on Tuesday.

Hi OP, sorry you’re going through this. Unfortunately I know this feeling, I’ve had 2 miscarriages with RPOC and sadly medical management failed me both times. It’s such a frustrating feeling going through it to then be told there’s still RPOC. Both times I ended up having surgery to remove it in the end.
I wish you all the best through this process, take care of yourself x

Yes unfortunately it happened to me, and the 2nd medical management failed too and I ended up with surgical management. The surgical wasn't too bad, but it was such a long and drawn out process with lots of waiting to find out if things had worked l, which made it pretty tough.

Thanks girls! Sorry you have also found yourselves in this position. It's awful isn't it? Just prolongs the situation. I was starting to

My tests were super faint, so I did question whether or not to bother ringing the epu back. Good job I did!

I went to the hospital and they did try to fob me off a bit. They said that their tests were negative, but then did an internal examination and found bits of tissue. Magically after that the tests were positive 🙄🙄

I'm not sure what's going on as my bleeding has stopped. I wonder if I could have passed the sac without realising? I'll still got to my hospital appointment on Tuesday to see what they say.

Yes. I had loads of bleeding and clots but hadn't passed the embryo. Had MM which didn't get everything so I had ERPC. I had a subsequent MMC at 9 weeks, 3rd pregnancy produced a healthy baby who is thriving.

@OMGsamesame I had a missed miscarriage also. They're so cruel aren't they? I'm so sorry you have been through this twice, but super glad to hear you got your rainbow baby 🌈💖 xx

Hello, glad I found this as I was about to start my own thread.

I’ve had a mmc but fortunately caught it early - slow heartbeat and delayed growth at 6 week scan and heart had stopped at 8 weeks. I took the mifepristone on Saturday afternoon, then the first 4 tablets of misoprostol at 9pm last night. Had a little cramping and minimal bleeding so took the next 2 misoprostol at 1am. Since then I’ve had manageable period-like cramps and period type bleeding but haven’t even filled one pad.

It’s obviously not really working! I called the EPU and they said to give it up to 24 hours to work. They also said they’d need to scan me to rule out ectopic which is infuriating as I’ve had 3 scans showing a non-ectopic pregnancy…it’s like they hadn’t even bothered to check my notes.

I’m just dreading it not working and having all this drag on, having to go the surgical route etc. I’ve had 3 mmcs in the past and had MVAs with all of them, and I really wanted to avoid another surgical procedure due to the risk of scarring.

Has anyone had a delayed reaction but successfully completed medical management?
