Causes of miscarriage 8 weeks

Hi all, I have just had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I began spotting a week ago but a scan showed the baby was fine and there was no blood in the sac. I began bleeding heavily 4 days ago but another scan showed the baby was fine. Yesterday it was very clear the pregnancy ended. I am lucky enough to have two babies already and noticed that this time around I was nowhere near as sick from the pregnancy from week 6 onwards. This has made me worried that maybe my hormones are the issue as clearly the baby was fine but it was almost like my body wasn’t recognising the pregnancy - does this mean it’s less likely to be a chromosomal problem? Should I get checked out or is this still more likely to be a one-off? I’m coping well with the miscarriage but want to try again as soon as possible and am worried that the same thing will happen again. Any thoughts?

Same happened to me. Two babies and one miscarriage. With the miscarried pregnancy the line on the test was much fainter and I didn't get any morning sickness. With the other two I was sick from the time I stood up in the morning to about lunchtime, every day for 4 months.

Having read many threads on here, I am pretty certain that every pregnancy is different and that having symptoms or not doesn’t seem to make any difference.
There are those on these forums who have loads of symptoms and then miscarry and those with none who have a healthy baby. Even those carrying multiples don’t always seem to get symptoms and it just seems each and every pregnancy is different, even in the same woman.
I would suspect that your horrible experience has been a random occurrence. Since you are already a mum of two you are unlikely to have any factors that will cause a miscarriage like immune issues or blood clotting factors.
I would suspect also that your hormones, progesterone, etc, are likely okay, since your body allowed you to get to 8 weeks. I would also expect a potential chromosome issue on this occasion and your body recognised this and ended the pregnancy. This is a random, yet unfortunately common event.
I would try again and hopefully your next pregnancy will be successful.
Miscarriage is always awful, no matter at what stage it occurs at and indeed whether it’s your first or subsequent pregnancy but I think you can be really hopeful for the next one x
