First Period after MC

Hi, wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar….
I had a natural MC on 11th May abroad, I was nearly 15wks. When I returned home a few days later, I went for a checkup and had RPOC. I chose to let it pass naturally but unfortunately I was still testing positive & had to have surgery on 13th June.
My bleeding has been consistent spotting since then and was gradually becoming more like staining but yesterday it increased and is more like light bleeding with what feels like period cramps. I’m now testing negative which I hope is a good sign. I track my cycles on natural cycles and it’s saying I ovulated earlier this week (2wks after surgery) and my period is due next Saturday which would be 3.5wks after surgery. Do you think my period could be here or is it just my hormones going back to zero & my body doing weird things? It’s been 7wks since the actual MC but obviously only a few weeks since the surgery so I’m just worried the bleeding could indicate remaining tissue. Praying not as I don’t think I can go through it again!

Shall I just wait it out till next week and see if the bleeding gets heavier or changes again?

Any advice appreciated! Thankyou x

Hi, did you find out whether it was your period or whether it was retained goods? Though unlikely to be retained goods if you have had a negative test.
I am nearly 6 weeks post medical management at 14 weeks and I bleed for 3 weeks afterwards. It was very much up and down during this point and I thought it was stopping and then got worse and I ended up dropping a clot. I was told it could have been my period starting but I am 3 weeks down the line and still no clue if it was a period and I haven't ovulated either 🤦

Hi @Mummysparrow thanks for replying. I called the hospital today as it was just playing on my mind too much. They seemed surprised I hadn’t had a period yet considering the MC was in May and said it’s likely my hormones would have dropped a bit then despite the retained tissue still being there. It could also still be aftermath of the surgery though.
Today, I’m bleeding bright red more, still light to what I was expecting so i’m thinking it could be my period. They’ve advised I keep an eye on it over the next week, in the hope it appears more obvious it’s a period (not sure how I’m meant to know that!) and the bleeding stops after a week or so and then I know for sure that is was.
It’s all so bloody draining isn’t it. As if going through a MC isn’t horrendous enough, we have to deal with the aftermath which lasts forever! I’m so sorry you’re still having issues. They did say to me, it can take a bit longer when you have a late MC so here’s hoping yours says hello v.soon so you can try and move forwards! Sending love 💕
