Miscarriage- could it be over already?

Daring to hope that I might have got off quite lightly.....

I should, theoretically be 8 weeks pregnant, but repeat scans showed that nothing progressed after 5 weeks (just a very small, empty gestational sac)

Miscarriage started on Sunday with very light bleeding.

Monday (yesterday) 2 hours of quite unpleasant cramps, like early labour. Manageable with paracetamol and rest. Suddenly stopped after 2 hours. Minimal bleeding whilst cramping.
Then bleeding like moderate/,heavy period for a few hours.

This morning - more period like bleeding, minor cramps.

This afternoon - nothing. No bleeding, no cramps. It just kind of feels 'finished'

Is that it???
I've been dreading the process. Every midwife has warned me that it might be unbearably painful, or that I might end up bleeding so heavily that I need a blood transfusion. Surely it can't be over this easily? Is it all going yo start again, only 10 times worse?

Anyone else gone through a mc at a similar stage and happy to share their experience?

I had my miscarriage of 8 weeks (pregnancy stopped at 5.6) so wasn't long ago and I remember wondering each day if it was over as l also was having false stops sometimes
It took 3 weeks from the first bleed to finish. Sorry to say my experience was I had bleeding which got significantly heavier on day 3 and started passing pieces of tissue and large clots days 4-5 with lots of labour (not period) pain. Then I had almost a full day with no bleeding but it started again at night and for the next week or so. I had a scan at 1wk after the bleeding started and still had an empty sac left to pass. This passed in small blood
clots over another week.

3 weeks after it started the bleeding had finished and a scan confirmed the full pregnancy had passed
