Hello everyone, I just went to the GP yesterday. Due to ongoing pelvic pain and spotting. I tested positive on Sunday so I was really worried because I bled after going to the gym. It started with just a smear of pink and brown blood. My GP told me that they don't really investigate pregnancies that are less than 6 weeks but they told me to come back if the bleeding becomes heavier. They also reassured me that what I am experiencing is normal during early pregnancy. But this morning I woke up and had a spotting again, (brown blood) and a bit of a clot. Then around 11am today I had passed a very red dischard with very small clots. This comes and go during the day and I am not sure if this is still implantation bleeding or miscarriage. I have pictures but I am new here and not sure if I am allowed to upload sensitive pictures

I am sorry that it sounds like a MC to me. Did you do another pregnancy test? If the line is fainter, that means MC is happening.
On the day when I started spotting, I was running really fast for 6 mins during the day. In the evening, I started to have spotting of brown blood. It lasted for 1 day then it became red the second day. The third day I went to ultrasound and it was empty. Then I had a blood cot which was dark red and there was a cord. So, that was my 1st MC at 6 weeks and 1 day.

Thank you for responding, i did another pregnancy test midday today and it's still positive. Although i know hcg levels can go down rapidly after a miscarriage and would still be positive on a pregnancy test. I've uploaded the bleeding i had first thing this morning, and the second one is the more reddiah blood that gushed out when i peed.

That looks a bit more than spotting 💐

Go back to the GP and ask for a transvaginal scan so you can be sure x

I agree with @Barefootsally . Check if you start to bleed more tonight/tomorrow. Usually red blood is not good news.

Thank you ladies for responding. Also i noticed that I am getting a smear on my pads when I have just had a meal. I feel like it's pressing on my uterus as well and makes it worse 😢

I had quite a lot of bleeding with dd2, more than your pics. It can be ok.

MigGirl · 20/06/2024 16:38

Nobody can tell at this stage, I had much heavy bleeding then that and went on to have a healthy pregnancy so it's to early to tell.

I went to see my GP a week after bleeding as initially though it was my period, so hadn't done a tests straight away. She then sent me to the early pregnancy unit for bloods and an early scan at around 7-8 weeks.

It's the waiting really that kills me, because they can't do anything unless im 6 weeks. My sister-in-law had heavy bleeding as well during her pregnancy and went on to have a healthy pregnancy as well.

May I ask, once they have referred you to EPU, how long did it take for you to get you referral appointment and did they run some scans as well to check if the foetus is viable?

I also had much more bleeding than that with my dc2 and all was fine.

I had similar spotting with dc1 as well and was scanned by my local EPU at 5 weeks 4 days - saw a heartbeat! You can self refer so no need to wait for your GP.

JumpinJellyfish · 20/06/2024 16:55

I just called the EPU and they booked me in for a scan the next day

CosmicLove · 20/06/2024 16:59

I also just called my local EPU directly and they booked a scan for the next day. Fingers crossed for you xx

Firsttimeheree · 20/06/2024 17:29

Thank you for this information. I will try to call my GP now since the EPU unit in my area wants a referral from GP. Again thank you so much 😊
