Hi,

so my miscarriage started 2 weeks ago but didn’t lose the last clot until 08/06.. since then just brown bleeding when wiped, can a scan and they said they couldn’t see anything, showing strong positive still come back in a week, went back yesterday and they did an internal
for 9 minutes and mentioned they could see a sack of fluid, but don’t think it’s a pregnancy? Brilliant whatever that is, did my bloods and levels are 188 and still showing positive this is 2 weeks since miscarriage started but took about a week to lose all the clots.. I was 6 weeks and now I’m starting to panic it’s ectopic or something else going on, they are very reassuring either 🫣

Heya, not sure how much I can help but didn’t want to read and run. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Definitely try not to worry about an ectopic - if they’ve done an internal scan they would have looked at your ovaries and tubes etc to rule that out. But obviously if you get pain, get it checked.

I had a missed miscarriage 4 weeks ago (found at 12 week scan that baby died at 8 weeks). Did medical management and bled and passed pregnancy tissue straight away but unfortunately still have a slight positive on test today and am bleeding again so they did a scan and saw a small (2-3cm) clot of blood, which could be “retained products” or something else - it was unclear. The test line has been fading over the last couple of weeks though. Annoyingly it sometimes just takes time. Like you, I’ve also been told to test again in a week, at which point they might do another scan if still positive.

It’s so frustrating and tough to be patient, but unfortunately it can all just take time. If you’re not having heavy bleeding, pain, dodgy discharge or any other signs of infection like fever, I think you unfortunately just have to wait it out.

In the meantime, take care of yourself - it’s such a shirty situation and I think the only things that really help are being kind to yourself and time xx

*lol - “shitty” situation, not shirty!

Thank you for posting this and I am so sorry you have gone through this. I had surgery to remove my failing pregnancy 2 weeks ago and was told to test again today, if positive to phone epu. It’s a very strong positive still. Do I phone them or just give it a few more weeks?

Lowkeyloopy · 21/06/2024 19:23

@McConkeysPlate I would definitely call them if that’s what they’ve told you to do. I left it a few days before calling because I could see the tests were getting lighter, but when I eventually called them they were like “if it’s a positive test, we need to book you in for a scan”. They booked me in for the following day. It shouldn’t be anything to be concerned about - I think they will just need to ensure you don’t have any signs of infection. I’m so sorry it’s still showing a strong positive for you though. It really messes with the head for me - I don’t think my mind can move forward from it until my body does.

@Lowkeyloopy it’s bloody awful having a blazing positive but knowing I am not pregnant. Even though the pregnancy was as far from planned as possible (47 with a coil), it’s still really hard.
the worst outcome is retained production of conception that needs further surgery x
