Yesterday, felt like I'd turned a corner after my ERPC last tues. My nuchal scan was due to be today and so I was mentally ticking off pregnancy symptoms I no longer have - not sick for a week, lost all the weight I had put on, can fit back into all my trousers not just the looser ones, all my nails (made strong by pregnancy) have broken and my boobs stopped hurting and have shrunk back and fit in my normal bras again, and all bleeding stopped over the weekend.

I had planned to take a pregnancy test to check its not still positive before starting to try again and was shocked to see it come out positive immediately and with a line darker than the test I took originally. I feel like I've been cruely slapped back down to earth and now have to wait for the closure I had planned for today!

Any idea how long it might take to get a negative test? Think I'll repeat on Friday as I'm going on holiday on Sunday and want to be able to move on by then and tick this final part off my list.

Sorry if this all sounds crazy but its been going round and round in my head so I just wanted to get it all out!

I think it can take up to 14 days to get a -ve test, esp if you were 10 weeks or so.

I know what you mean about the list - the mc dates and EDDs still come round and slap me in the face each year for each of my mcs

I havnt really took HPT after mc because Ive always been followed up with blood tests xx

You should wait a full cycle before trying again anyway - or longer if you can. I conceived after my ERPC (after one period) and lost it straight away. I think my uterus was too thin after the procedure. I just think better to let yourself heal properly in there before trying again to save heartache xxx

The consultant that I saw after my third mc, said that there was really nothing at all to show that waiting one cycle or more after a complete mc effected the outcome of the next pg. Which was a good thing as I had become pg straight after the ERPC, and that pg became my cheeky monster DS

I concieved my DS the cycle after my ERPC

We wont be trying again though

Napa sorry that you're going through this. I've had a +ve 2.5 months after mc (natural) - but by this time was getting scans and blood tests due to previous mp so probably much easier for me to get this done (Drs hear mp and refer me straightaway). I hope that things return to normal soon and that you can get back to ttc.

thanks everyone. the consultant has said its fine to try again but i wanted the negative test first so i didn't get my hopes up next month with a false positive test.

i took 2 weeks for pregnanct tests to stop being positive after my erpc, they were very faint though.
