Experiences with EPU after MC confirmed at private scan

Hey!

(Sorry this is longer than I intended)

I wondered if anyone had any experience with this.
This is my 2nd miscarriage however unlike this first this had been discovered at private early reassurance scans. (Booked due to the previous mmc)

I had a scan at what I believed was 7 weeks, was only measuring 5+3 private place was overly offered me follow up scan a week later at 8 weeks (yesterday) to see if any chnage. This scab showed no growth since the 1st.

The sonographer was lovely, they would normally call your GP on your behalf to explain and referral to EPU, however because it was a Saturday she couldn't do this so she sent me a copy of the report and scans to pass on to my GP

I wondered if anyone has any experience with referring to gp and nhs after a private scan? I'm really anxious about how this will be recieved especially after a really bad experience with my first miscarriage.

Any experience good or bad I need to hear it
Thank you! 💜

I've had this happen twice at private scans (once at a commercial window to the womb type place, and the other when I went for an NIPT). It will usually mean 2 more scans as although the EPU accept the referral they don’t accept the scan as part of your medical records so have to scan you at the EPU and then again about a week later. Everyone was incredibly kind to me and they did all the stuff I wanted to not have to think about. Thinking of you x

I’m so sorry @Sherlock30 I had my second miscarriage last week & its so so difficult.

My first MC was found at a private scan. Where I am, you have to go through a GP yourself to get an EPU appt. My private scan was a Saturday, so had to wait til Monday to get a GP appt. They then got me an appt at EPU on the Tuesday. They did a scan, and because the baby was 8wks with no heartbeat, another sonographer then checked the scan to confirm it, so I didn’t have to wait and go back another week or so later. I then chose to have medical management the following day.
I’ve only ever had positive dealings with the EPU.

I hope you manage to get an appointment soon x

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this as well.
Thank you, sounds like you were in the same boat as me with it being a Saturday. I've got my message ready for the gp app first thing and just go from there. Hopefully this limbo part isn't dragged out too much longer.
All these pregnancy symptoms because my body just hasn't cottoned on yet is torturous
I hope you're doing as well as you can be x
