Just had my 3rd miscarriage since starting to try for #2 in December
Wondering what to expect from the recurrent miscarriage clinic?
My gp is doing loads of bloods and an internal and external scan, wondering what else might happen

Thanks:)

Afraid I don't know the answer but would also be interested to hear what others say. I've got my appointment with the recurrent miscarriage clinic next month and no idea what to expect.
I'm having bloods next week but don't even know what they're checking.

Anyone been through NHS clinic and can shed any light?? X

I know each area is different but do you mind me asking how long you've waited for an appointment?

EPU referred me on 27th March and my first appointment is 12th June - 11 weeks exactly. I was quite surprised tbh, was expecting to wait months!

Have you got an appointment yet?

Hi,
I miscarried in Jan and I got my appointment mid-July (my age didn't help to expedite this)

Hi guys, so sorry for all your losses! How did your appointments go with the recurrent miscarriage clinics? What happened and what kind of support did they offer? Would love to hear your experiences as I have a telephone consultation coming up in a few months. Thank you in advance

Mine was about 7 years ago but i think blood tests then scan. I told them that i had recently (like the week before) found to have a blood clotting disorder but they still did the tests.

Then when i was pregnant x 2 later they had me in every two weeks up to week 12 to check medication/scan to see if DC were ok. Discharged to local hosp at 12 weeks.

After confirming my disorder i had 2 x appt with Lesley Regan. This was at marys, paddington

Treatment was a success and my DC are currently soaking the bathroom, hope yours all go well x

I think i was actually pregnant again (maybe?) At the first appt as i thought thr wait would be longer

It's been 11 years now but they did blood tests, scans and then put me on baby aspirin and warfarin blood thinners. Doctor then asked for a HSG test to check for blocks. I fell a couple months after the HSG. Wishing you all the luck in the world and sorry for your losses.

My first appointment was last week, I had bloods done before the appointment and they essentially just went through the results, asked me about my history and because some of my results are abnormal they want to repeat them. But I have to wait 12 weeks before they can repeat them which is a bit frustrating...! I'll then have follow up with the consultant after that.
They mentioned possibly needing aspirin/heparin injections when I get pregnant but nothing confirmed yet.

They were lovely but a bit gutted I haven't got any proper answers yet.

Sorry you've had losses too, I hope you're appointment goes okay x

So sorry for your losses OP, it's really tough. I had three miscarriages before having my second child. Tests all came back normal, when I did fall pregnant I was put on progesterone and blood thinners as a preventative. I also did acupuncture. Perhaps one of those three did help in the end.

My appointment was with my local NHS clinic. I was referred by EPU after my last miscarriage in March 😊
