I miscarried on 1st Feb at 6 weeks pregnant and my periods still haven't returned, how long should I leave it before going to see my Gp? Am really confused as after my 1st m/c my af came 4 weeks later. thank you

Are you sure you miscarried? did you have scan? if you are sure it wouldn't hurt to speak to your GP now. I recently had a miscarriage and just got my af 4 weeks later but I know from others it can take a little while.

It can take a little while sometimes. Could you already be pregnant again? Agree with Catzy, check with your GP.

Yes it was definatly a complete m/c, had a scan after. We did do it once a couple of weeks after the m/c without using any protection but I read that you don't ovulate untill your af after a m/c, though I suppose there is still a chance.. thank you for your advice, really appreciate it.

titchy, it is definately possible that you are pg again. you can ov at any time after a mc, however, it does sometimes take a while for things to settle down. go to your gp for reassurance, im sorry that this has happened

Take at test, many people do get pregnant after a mc and before the next period. If it's negative you should speak to your gp. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks and my period returned 5 weeks later but it can vary.

and the "no ov until after af" thing is rubbish. ther are loads of women on here who conceived straight after..

Julezboo · 03/04/2008 11:15

ive conceived pretty much right away after all my early mc's you might want to do a test.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/04/2008 11:21

Well I do know someone who didn't get her period for about 90 days after her m/c, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you don't get yours for another year or more .

Thank you, if i am pregnant will it increase my chance of m/c again as my body wouldn't have gone back to normal so soon?I also had a small amount of blood about 3 weeks ago, it was red but only a tiny bit in my knickers sorry TMI,and i thought that was the start of my af but after that tiny amount nothing more?Think I'll do a test at the weekend!

My ds2 is a result of getting pregnant after mc!! Good luck for the weekend and let us know x

I became pregnant just two weeks after my last m/c. No problems so far and I'm 13 weeks - it doesn't increase your chances of miscarriage.

I do think you need to do a test.
