Dr refusing to give D&C / SMM

Hello

I am 8 weeks and have had bleeding on and off for a few weeks.

2.5 weeks ago, i was found to have a heart beat but pretty slow. Its got slower and slower (really hard to see the heartbeat now) and the baby hasnt grown in 2 weeks.

They have confirmed that the pregnancy will end in miscarriage but wont let me get the D&C / SMM until the heart has actually stopped. It feels like torture and i dont understand when we all know this is going to end.

Has anyone been in this situation? If so, what did you do?

This is a horrible situation be in but I feel your post title is rather unfair on the medical professionals looking after you. Of course they cannot do d&c until the pregnancy is confirmed non viable and whilst it looks inevitable, stranger things have happened.
I guess you could go to a completely separate abortion clinic and not mention all the tests you have had so far?
I lost one at 6 weeks but mmc so didn't find out for another 2 weeks and I refused to go home until I was on the emergency list for the next day. So when it eventually does get to that point you can insist on it being done the next day if you make enough of a fuss x

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. During my last miscarriage I ended up having 5 scans over 4 weeks, it was so hard and felt so cruel each time I was sent away with a ‘let’s wait a week’ each time. By the final scan I felt relief that they finally said yes we know it’s all ended and we can book you in for surgery. It’s so hard xx sending you all the love
