Hi there,

I have recently experienced my first miscarriage which during the process I found out I have (what the nurse described as) a deep heart shaped uterus. I went to the EPU at 6 weeks with light spotting and was told about my uterus and that its common to experience spotting in pregnancy, the following week at my next scan, we were told there was no heart beat. :(

I have obviously been googling and researching everything and anything which I can find on a similar experience.

There are a lot of positive stories out there and also some not so positive but I am just on the hunt to find anyone else who may have experienced similar.

I am 34 and at this point I worry I am never going to be able to have children.

Appreciate any advice/experience/guidance/wisdom...

Hi, so sorry to hear about your recent miscarriage. I was told I have a 'severe' heart shaped uterus and have conceived and carried two healthy children to term, my first was planned C-section for breech at 39 weeks (he ran out of space to turn due to uterus shape), the second spontaneous labour at 40 weeks 4 days and ultimately EMCS (but not related to the heart shaped womb). I had one 6 week miscarriage along the way too, but absolutely no pregnancy complications despite being monitored for them. There are a lot of stories and experiences out there, I remember really scaring myself googling when I found out at my 12 week scan about my womb and I wish I hadn't as there was no need to worry. Try to stay positive, it isn't necessarily going to be an issue. Any questions happy to answer them. I remember coming here for answers and not getting very many!

thank you so much for your supportive message this has really made me relax a little. its so hard not to go down a rabbit hole and google every case scenario. I have just today had a very VERY faint positive test (could be a evap line so trying not to get my hopes up too much at this stage) but going into this feeling confident and overwhelmed at the exact same time!

I absolutely know the feeling! I went down that rabbit hole too. When someone tells you not to, it's even harder isn't it as you just want to prepare yourself for every possible eventuality! I really hope you get the news that you're hoping for and wish you all the best on the journey ahead.

Thanks so much @bexijane

Could I ask if you experienced any spotting during you pregnancy and if you were put onto Progesterone?

Any info at this stage would be helpful :-)
