I had a missed miscarriage a few weeks ago. I went for my 12 week scan on 26/3 but sadly there was no heartbeat and it was measuring at 7 weeks. I had a D&C on 28/3.
I had spotting from just after the procedure until last Tuesday (16/4) when I passed a massive clot with a gush of blood. The clot came with no cramps and was around the size of my palm. After this I had a few days of spotting again and then was completely clear for a few days until yesterday.
I had a few cramps on and off during the day and then around 8pm last night same again, a massive gush of blood and then I was on the toilet for around 1.5 hours passing strawberry sized clots, there was 12 in total.
I've just had spotting ever since.
I phoned my EPAU and they said they can't help me because I've had a negative pregnancy test and I need to ring my GP. My GP wasn't interested in the slightest and said it was my period because I had no fever or smelly discharge and prescribed me with pain relief even though I said I wasn't in pain.
I also got in touch with Tommy's who said to go to A&E immediately, but after checking the waiting times at my local hospital there was 122 patients in the department 😱 so I rang 111 instead. Spoke to a clinican who said it sounds like a period too.
Has anyone else had very heavy bleeding with clots 3.5 weeks after a D&C which lasted a few hours and then stopped?
Could this have been retained products from the D&C? Coming out very delayed? Could it possibly be a period? Even though it was only 3 weeks and 4 days after the procedure.
