Second period after miscarriage is late

Hi everyone,

I had a miscarriage at nearly 8 weeks in February. I've had one period since then which came around a month after the loss. I'm now waiting on my second period after the loss to come and there's no sign of it. I'm currently on cycle day 35 and I have never ever been this late before. My cycles are normally 28-29 days. Is this normal? I'm experiencing a little bit of cramping here and there but no sign of it coming. Pregnancy tests are all negative. Just wanted to check if this is normal after loss?

Thanks a million 😊

Unfortunately a miscarriage can throw your cycle off, it's not uncommon. I'd wait until your next period is due, if that doesn't come give your gp a ring.

I was CD 45 when mine eventually came. I actually called the EPU unit and they found 12 mm of tissue which I’m having a scan to make sure that has come away. My period was awful heavy and passed so many clots. Hoping I’m back to normal now. I had a very light small bleed about 28 days after MC but was just brown blood and only on wiping.

@Bb542 sorry for your loss sweet. As PPs have said unfortunately MC can cause havoc as far as periods are concerned. I've had 3 back to back losses and each one has had its own effect on my cycle. The first one made my periods a bit lighter (I have very very heavy periods always have) the second made my cycle shorter (from around 35 days to around 29) and the most recent has shortened the days bleeding was always around 7-10 days but most recent one was only 4 days except that they are now tsunami like. Even heavier than before I've never known anything like it. But I'm taking the 4 days bleeding as a win 🤣 good luck to you on your TTc journey. Be kind to yourself 💐 💐

Thank you all so much for answering 😊 it came yesterday evening and it's so bad. I've never had painful/emotional periods but since the loss they've been so different. Just want to get back to normal 😫
So sorry you've been through losses too. It's so hard ❤️

@Bb542 so
sorry for your loss also. I looked at mine as a positive as my body resetting and hopefully back on track. I have a scan on Friday to see how my uterus is and if lining is ok. The funny thing with this heavy period I don’t get sore boobs before hand and only symptoms was a 3 day headache, no pain either.
