1st period after miscarriage

Hi. I’m nearly at 3 weeks after miscarrying at 5 weeks. And am wondering what my first period is going to be like.

I have already ovulated, 12 days after MC - I knew as had a lot of EWCM and ovulation pain. Midwife advised not to have sex until at least 2 weeks after and to wait for my first period before trying to conceive again. Have to take a pregnancy test at just over 3 weeks to confirm it’s all gone.

usually, before the pregnancy - my breasts would hurt a lot for a full 7 or more days before my period, and only stop hurting once I start my period.

im just wondering - when it comes back the first time, does it still come back with all the usual feelings of a period my body had before? Or can it be a bit more random and different? Google seems to say it may be heavier or lighter but nothing about other symptoms.

looking for others experiences.

Were keen to start trying again, trying to be patient, but its been a frustrating few weeks trying to work out what my body is doing now.

In my experience it can be a bit random and different — earlier/later, heavier/lighter. Your body will still have some of the extra hormones and that has an impact on your cycle.

You don’t have to wait. It makes dating any subsequent pregnancy easier if you do, but that’s a good problem to have in many ways. I chose to, just to give myself some headspace, but everyone is different, and there’s no physical risks attached to trying before your next cycle x

Hello, I had a MMC in Feb. I was told my period would return anywhere between 4-8 weeks. I was really thrown when it came back after 3week 3 days post MVA (opted for surgical management) I had zero symptoms of when AF usually arrives. I called my EPU who were very reassuring and said it was my period returning. It was incredibly light- sometimes only blood when I wiped. My second period arrived a lot more normally and I was able to track the ovulation before it. Best of luck @LivelyBird - sorry for your loss xx

Hi @LivelyBird just wondering if after your MC you tracked your hcg down to zero or not?
I had a MC this month and stopped bleeding on the 14th, and have been tracking my levels with blood tests and home urine tests. Both still positive but going down as they should. However today and yesterday I’ve had lots of egg white CM like you said and wondering if I’m ovulating even though I still have hug in my system? Do you know if you did or not too?
