Low NK Cells / Biopsy

Hello. We have experienced 3x MMC's, all where embryo has stopped developing around 5-7 weeks and discovered at scans.

We have just received our dEFT (endometrial biopsy) results from Professor Brosens in Coventry. My results have shown very poor NK cell levels, I’m in the 15 percentile. I am being prescribed Prednisone to start taking (20mls) from a positive test, for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Does anyone have any experience of similar? Positive or negative stories would be helpful, just so I can prepare for what next time could look like for us.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Hello,
just read your post- would you recommend your experience with Professor Brosens? Do you have to have had a certain number of MC?

Hi have you been prescribed sitagliptin too?
There is another huge thread all about this issue if you search for sitagliptin on the search bar.
I have the test and mine was 22% so not much more than yours. On month 2 of sitagliptin now and also have the same plan for prednisolone. My friend was on it last year and is now 17 weeks pregnant. I think she had 4 mc. I've had at least 5, probably 6.

I would absolutely recommend Prof Brosens. He is a walking talking text book on all things loss and fertility and the first to say to me "this isn't just bad luck" that I heard all too often from NHS! The biopsy was not pleasant, but it's gotten me my answer and I'd therefore do it time and time again. Money well spent. Good luck x

I haven't been prescribed sitagliptin, can I ask who prescribed you it? I'm going to contact Tommy's for more information as well. I'm only on prednisone from a positive test, which worries me! So much of the research I've been shown talks of over activated or high NK cells, and so little on low levels. I'm so lost with it all!

It was one of the recommendations from prof brosens after my biopsy. I was also prescribed progesterone not prednisone sorry. So must have a different deft profile to you. Thankfully my gynaecologist gave me the prescription so I didn't have to pay!
