Hello I'm new here,

I had my second child back in November he is a twinless twin (we lost his twin at approx 10 weeks) just a few days postpartum I passed image 1 (£ coin for size ref) we still don't know if it was leftover placenta or maybe something to do with twinnie as I never 'miscarried' so the twin stayed with us throughout the pregnancy.....but my question is this, today at almost 5 months postpartum I passed image 2 quite a tough texture with a strange white tab type thing on the end, could it be a miscarriage? Not that I have thought I was even pregnant, if not what coThanks for your help xxuld this be?

I passed something similar many years ago and assumed I'd miscarried. Seen out of hours GP who said I had and to throw the tissue away, and sent me to the hospital for a scan. I luckily didn't throw away the tissue as they asked for it at the hospital to look at under the microscope. Turns out it wasn't a miscarriage, it was the lining of my womb that had thickened and come away. But they did a pregnancy test to make sure.

I flushed it away as I thought a picture would be ok, do you remember what happened when you passed it? I suddenly got a hot sweat then stomach cramps that felt like a contraction that just wouldn’t go away for about an hour

Definitely looks like a decidual cast and not miscarriage to me.
