Hello,
I am currently 7/8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. Last Friday morning I had brown spotting. Went to the EPU who booked me in for a transvaginal scan tomorrow. (Wednesday)
in this time I have developed severe cramping and today the bleeding was very heavy and I passed about three clots. I haven’t seen anything resembling a fetus or a sac yet though. Still cramping though I think the bleeding might be easing off. Is there any chance this isn’t a miscarriage? Like I say, no tissue or membranes/embryo to be seen. Could it be a subchrionic heamatoma?
I will find out tomorrow but honestly, it really sucks that there isn’t a better system for distressed women than to wait the best part of 5 days for a scan! I’ve been googling like mad!

I’m sorry OP I have no advice, as unfortunately it’s a waiting game. I have been having brown spotting since Saturday & have a scan at the EPU tomorrow.

I am afraid that I had a MMC a few months ago that started with brown spotting. I hope this isn’t the case for you, everyone is so different so a scan is the only way to be sure

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

The waiting is agony, but hopefully it’ll be good news on the day. Plenty of women have heavy bleeds and go on to have successful pregnancies.

Try to be gentle with yourself in the meantime (I know it’s hard — but Google is not your friend right now). Wishing you all the best

Im sorry you’re experiencing this. The wait is torture. I’ve been in that position and know how rough it is. I’ve had a mix of experiences..

I have had heavy bleeding in early pregnancy with big clots and the baby was fine. In fact she’s asleep right next to me now. Was initially diagnosed as a heamatoma but eventually discovered it was actually a cervical
polyp causing the bleeding as it kept going on for the first 16 weeks.

I’ve also had a pregnancy with no bleeding or spotting at all but I had miscarried and the baby stopped growing but no signs at all. That ended in surgical management at 8.5 weeks.

So anything is possible. Really hope you get good news tomorrow x

I hope it's good news tomorrow, the waiting is awful.

Unfortunately they found it was an incomplete miscarriage. Need to go back for bloods to check HCG levels. I’m okay, but just need the cramping to stop. It is what it is!
