Testing positive 4 weeks post MC, possible ectopic?

Hi,

4 weeks ago today I had a miscarriage (10+3 weeks,) after a week of spotting. I had ultrasounds before and after the MC which confirmed that there had been a sac and fetal pole but it had been passed.

During the second scan they found a mystery shadow below one of my ovaries and were unable to say whether or not it was a cyst or a second, twin ectopic pregnancy, but it did look as though my body was starting to break it down.

EPU told me to test again in a few weeks and I did so today and got a definite positive test. Before this I had been still testing positive but faintly. Does anyone know if this is a sign the mystery shadow is a second ectopic pregnancy? I have attached a photo of the last 2 pregnancy tests I did below, top is the newest one.

It could be or could it possibly be a new pregnancy? Your best bet is to call your GP this morning and get referred for bloods/scan. Have you any ectopic symptoms?

I don’t have any answers for you, but wanted to say I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m in a similar situation and know how tough the ‘not knowing’ is - I had tests go negative then positive again very quickly and I’m finding it’s really messing with my head. I agree with the poster above about reaching out to your GP and/or EPU. I’ve had to be quite pushy in order to get a scan (booked in for next week). I hope you get answers soon

Thank you to you all for replying. I went to EPU again today and got another scan. They did 2 more tests, one negative and one positive. The scan showed I had the mystery thing on my ovary still plus another bloody filled cyst. Now querying endometriosis as well as ectopic pregnancy but keep feeling like I’m being fobbed off and just told to come back later. The whole thing really messes with your head doesn’t it 😢

I’m sorry you are going through this OP 😔 I don’t have the experience of the shadow, but it took me around 5 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test after my MC. I guess I had a lot of HCG in my system
