First period 4 weeks after miscarriage HELP!!

Hi all this is my first post, I was wondering is anyone else has had the same experience as me , I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks I had bad hemorrhage so had to stay in hospital for 2 days the amount of blood loss was nothing like I’ve ever seen before, my miscarriage bleeding lasted about 1 week then stopped now 4 weeks post the miscarriage I have stated my actual first period but started off spotting for a few days then went to have a normal flow nothing heavy as I usually have heavy periods but it’s lasted 13 days and don’t seem to be stopping and I’m getting really fed up and becoming frustrated with my body I just want it to stop now has anyone else had a similar experience and how long did your period bleeding last so I can get a rough idea I’m so eager to try again that it’s making me feel depressed I know I need to give my body time to settle but it’s taking so long 😩

@Stacey102 oh lovely I’m so sorry to hear your story ! My story isn’t exact to yours but I had a pregnancy loss at 6 weeks 2 months ago and my first period lasted 7 days xx I hope it stops for you soon too lovely ! I was just thinking could you maybe go for a scan ? Maybe there is retained tissue still left in there , that did not pass still ? Xx

I’m sorry that you’ve been through so much. That sounds really tough.

I’ve recently had a miscarriage and was warned by the EPU that my first period after might be heavier or longer than normal. I think at 13 days it would be worth speaking to your GP or EPU. I used to have periods that were too long (sometimes 2 weeks) and they prescribed me tranexamic acid which can make long periods end, as well as reducing flow. It’s safe to use while TTC so it could be an option.

Hi hun, it was a complete miscarriage and had a scan on the same day after everything came out so there was no retained tissue, my period has slowed down today barely anything on the pad just when I wipe it’s there so fingers crossed it’s coming to the end I’ve got a scan booked for this Sunday coming to check my uterus my only worry is it will start up again xx
