MMC - how long did you bleed for?

Hi all,

I have recently had a MMC and was wondering how long did you bleed for afterwards?

I started bleeding after sex on Monday 19/2 at 11+5, we had our 12 week scan on Thursday 22/2 where they confirmed baby had passed at 8+4. I miscarried at home on Saturday 24/2. It was pretty intense and over in a couple of hours.

Fast forward to now, I have been bleeding for almost 4 weeks and it’s been almost 3 since the miscarriage itself. I took a pregnancy test this morning and there is still a line there (it’s a squinter, but there).

I guess I’m just wondering if it’s worth calling EPU about the positive pregnancy test or just wait it out as it’s a squinter? And how long should I expect to be bleeding for? No one prepared me for this when I saw them the day after the miscarriage as they booked me for surgery but I miscarried at home before I got there.

Hello, the advice I was given by my EPU was that I was to test in three weeks and if there was any line to call them. I would definitely call them? You may not have passed everything out? I’m really sorry this has happened to you x

Thank you - the line is so faint so I might leave it til next week and take another before calling them. I just want the bleeding to stop now, it’s been almost 4 weeks ☹️ I just want to move on!

It’s just horrible isn’t it. I had MMC on 16th Feb, and elected for MVA.
Hardly bled and this week I’ve started too and it’s so light and I don’t feel periody at all. The EPU said it is my period returning but it’s all a head wreck. How much bleeding are you having??

Argh completely forgot to reply to this!

I actually stopped bleeding the day after my last post but started again on Thursday, assuming this is my period now… I took another test this morning and it’s finally negative. Hoping this is what we need to move on now 🤞
