Recurrent miscarriage referral

Hello, I've had 3 back to back miscarriages, no live children. I phoned my GP and asked to be referred to recurrent miscarriage clinic. They have said they are referring me to gynaecology. Is this correct?

It might differ depending on where you are in the country.
I was referred to gynae to undergo blood tests and possible investigations however, I was also referred to the reoccurring miscarriage clinic near me.
There was a waiting list for both.

Gynae offered nothing except for investigations. (All normal)

Re occurring miscarriage clinic did the same testing plus additional testing. (All normal)

I had such hope in the re occurring miscarriage clinic but they could not offer me any explanation and gave me treatment not based on evidence but offered as it “might help” but is not proven.

Unfortunately they told me that they do not know the cause of over 80% of all miscarriages and due to no funding, this is likely to not improve.

More losses even with “treatment “ with high dose folic acid, asprin, clexane and hormone injections. It just lasted longer and I had more torrential blood loss due to the blood thinners.

Then gave up all hope.

Stopped trying.

Accepted natures massive hints that it’s just not to be.

Then, out of the blue, I found I was 7 weeks pregnant.
I was over 40. Prepared for the inevitable loss that I fully expected.
Then I was 12 weeks, 15 weeks, 20 weeks, 35 weeks with a booked section.
Then, I was holding a miracle baby in my arms!

Totally totally bizarre. Still can’t believe it. But there you are.
Don’t give up, it can and does happen!
