Private APS testing

Has anyone done this? I've recently had a MMC where it stopped growing just under 10w and I read that a miscarriage at 10w is a sign of APS. I know miscarriages are common and there are lots of causes but the idea of going through this twice more to qualify for testing on the NHS only to find out I have APS and need treatment to have a successful pregnancy is just awful.

I have been considering this. Like you I had an MMC where the baby stopped growing around then (found at 12.5 weeks). However I then realised there are so many causes and so many potential tests I could have that I wouldn't know where to stop. Part of me still wants to get all the testing I can afford in case it is something treatable. Then I have to remind myself that in most cases it is just a chromosomal issue and basically random. But, then I also think having another one or two only to find out it was something I could have fixed already would be devastating...

The NHS does testing after two miscarriages now, but I completely understand why you’re keen to investigate now, rather than go through this again.

Many women do have miscarriages and go on to easily have successful pregnancies afterwards. It could have been any number of things, that might never happen again. Hopefully that is the case.

However, if you’re feeling really stressed about this you can easily get the test done. Wishing you all the best
