I had a missed miscarriage on the 16th of Feb at 10weeks. I had a MVA which I have recovered well from. I was wondering if anyone has else TTC before their period returned? Pros? Cons? Thoughts? We had been trying for two years prior to this, this had been our first ever BFP. I don’t know if it’s best to just give it a shot or whether it will play on mind waiting for my period to return? Interested to hear from people who have gone through it etc?

Hello I am similar, had MMC at 10.5 weeks and medical management on the 7th Feb. I have started to TTC again straight away because I just want to be pregnant again 😢 but it is stressful not knowing when/if I am ovulating and when to expect or not expect a period. Its really hard. Some people say to wait for first period to make it easier for dating etc. But you are fine to when you feel upto it. Sorry for your loss its such a heartbreaking experience x

I think the advice to wait for your period is for dating, if you got pregnant again straight away. We waited a few months to have to time to really deal it emotionally, I couldn't have dealt with another pregnancy straight away. I am pleased we waited, it's really helped me get to a good mindset to TTC again.

I’m so sorry for your loss. As others have said the advice is to hep with dating, but your would be absolutely fine to go ahead. There’s no right or wrong, do whatever you feel is best for you both. Wishing you all the best 💐

I had a missed miscarriage at just over 10w with baby measuring just under that and had surgical management on 8th Feb and have been wondering the same thing but have decided to wait. I feel like I need to let my body recover a little first. I don't know if this is true or not but it's like being pregnant and miscarrying has depleted my various reserves and I need to rebuild a little first. I still don't feel like my usual self. I also still had positive tests so had another scan which showed 1cm of retained product so that's made me think I need to wait just to make sure every is cleared out by having a period which reinforced my plan to wait.

Thank you for your replies. I have decided to wait also, I feel already worried about the return of period let alone the headstress of a TWW! @Brookes19 @Geraniumm I’m so sorry for your loss- I don’t know how you guys are doing but for me it’s been the hardest 2.5 weeks, I am slowly feeling better, but still not quite myself!

Hi all, I'm recovering from a second MMC in Jan, my first was in October (so conceived again in November). I remember after Oct being desperate to try again.

I'm having more of a break this time as we're off on holiday next month so makes sense to wait and I think emotionally (whilst hard for an impatient person) the wait will be good for me as I'll feel better able to deal with any outcome. Also good seeing my cycle return to normal again x

I had surgery for my MMC the same day as you. I assume you haven't had your period yet? I'm desperate for mine to return. Have had tummy cramps and mild lower back pain for the last few days but no sign of mine, I was hoping it would arrive so not sure what the cramping is.

Geraniumm · 05/03/2024 20:38

@jellyfish2
Nope, I'm getting some cramps like I would do in the few days before a period but I'm sure I haven't ovulated as I've been doing tests so I'm not feeling hopeful for a period anytime soon 😕 I can't wait to get it though because then it feels like this ordeal will finally be over

jellyfish2 · 05/03/2024 21:05

@Geraniumm same it's awful isn't it. Someone else said they had cramps and had actually ovulated after that so I'm going to keep doing opks and hopefully will ovulate.
