Inevitable miscarriage?

Hi everyone , i apologies for the long and graphic post in advance but I've been desperately googling for the last 24 hours and I can't find a thing of any use...

I am currently 11weeks pregnant, we had some dark brown spotting at 6+ 6 weeks where we had an early scan at the epu and eveything was ok and heartbeat seen.
on Monday I started spotting bright red blood and we called the midwife clinic for some advice the receptionist said she would get somebody to call but they never called back. Fast forward to Thursday night and I was playing with my 7 month old when i suddenly felt a huge gush and sudden onset of very strong pain! This continued for a few hours and I was filling a pad every 30 minutes and passing golf ball size clots. My partner called L&D for advice who said to call an ambulance so we did that, was taken in to L&D where we saw a doctor who did an internal exam and felt around abit. He said my cervix is open with a lot of blood/mucus being passed but from a prod around of my tummy ect he doesn't believe I have passed the baby. However he has classed us as having an 'Inevitable miscarriage'

We are booked in for a scan on Monday morning ( no earlier slots ) but now my bleeding has practically stopped and is only there when I wipe. I haven't passed any other clots ect and the ones I did pass was examined in the hospital and they confirmed none of them was the pregnancy..

Is it possible that he could of got the diagnosis wrong ? Is my body just not doing what it needs to do and will need some kind of intervention?

I am so confused and completely frazzled from all of this... has anybody ever been diagnosed with inevitable miscarriage and can share some insight into what to expect now ? I still have all my pregnancy symptoms and very much feel pregnant...

@Bethmxox sorry to read your message. In my experience what happened to me was I started bleeding lightly at 11 weeks on the Thursday. By Sunday terrible cramps and a lot of blood and clots into Monday. Bleeding was mid to heavy all wee but no pain. In the Friday morning I went to the toilet and a golf ball sized thing which I think was the baby fell out of me. It was just awful but after that the bleeding subsided . So it was 8 days from start to finish, and I really didn’t expect the baby to hang on till day 8. I thought after all the cramps etc that was going on and clots coming away it was in there. I’m so sorry but id say if you have all this bleeding that it’s not looking good and dr is correct. I’d give it more time to come away without intervention if you feel up to it. Good luck x
