Early miscarriage but still strong positive?

Hello, I'm 21DPO so only about 5 weeks. I've been testing daily and my test line lost some strength yesterday and I started bleeding. I assumed a chemical and bleeding is a bit heavier now and brownish red like a period. However I've got the strongest positive yet today. I don't know what is going on can it be a chemical?

I called EPU they said only come in to A&E if in pain on what side / fever and A&E won't scan me. EPU wouldn't see me for probably a week either so I'm alone here not knowing if there is anything to be done to save it?

I had strong positives for over 5 weeks with one 6w mc.

In reality, even if they scanned you, there is little that can be done in terms of actually stopping a mc if it’s started, but of course lots of women have bleeds and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. Is a private scan at a spire hospital or something an option? It’s tortuous having to wait whilst worrying what’s going on.

Oh that's interesting! My gut feeling is this is a miscarriage as it's my third miscarriage in 10 months. However seeing my HCG is going up has totally thrown me. I can't get a scan until a week today at the earliest.

Sorry for what your are going through, OP.
The last person who responded posted accurate information in my opinion.
One thing I would add is that from my miscarriage experience I learned that as long as the placenta is still inside the uterus, it can cause pregnancy hormones to keep pumping out, even if the baby has passed away. I do hope this is not what has happened to you of course and I’m so sorry for your losses. It’s so s**t

Thanks for your replies! I had a private scan the day of that dye stealer which suspected ectopic, so I had to go into A&E where my blood HCG was only 24! They rescanned me and said what the clinic saw was the corpus luteum. I started properly bleeding on Friday.

Sorry OP.
the corpus luteum can keep kicking hormones out for awhile too I was told.
I hope you are doing ok. It’s really such a shit time. I hope you get your rainbow one day.
