Marking lost baby's due date

Hi

I had a pregnancy loss last August and I just wanted to mark the day (yesterday) that my baby would have been born.

I was wondering how others have done this. It feels wrong not to do so.

I keep thinking of the "alternate reality" where I would be holding my baby today.

I went to a garden centre and chose a plant that was in flower at that time, then planted it in my garden so every year when it flowers it's a little reminder and acknowledgement for me of the little one I never got to meet. I'm sorry for your loss.

You could write baby a letter, release a balloon or plant some flowers, plant or tree. It’s my due date today, also lost baby in august, it’s difficult not to imagine what life would be like if they were still here. Sending a hand hold!!

I did this too. I also used to go somewhere quiet by water and be peaceful. I went there every year for about 5 years or so. It helped.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s not self indulgent at all. I remember my due dates, but I really like the idea of a plant in memory. I’ll also be doing that.
