Could this be miscarriage

I suddenly lost most of pregnancy symptoms at 8 weeks. Few days later I started spotting light pinkish color which soon turned into raw red bleeding. The amount of blood would fill one pad or so per day. The bleeding lasted for about 5 days and it consisted some clots. The pain wasn't too intense but after passing clots, I felt relieved. It all felt so weird & unusual.

Bleeding stopped after 5 days and there was no signs of pregnancy found on transvaginal ultrasound.

Does that mean I miscarriaged or would that mean I could have ectopic pregnancy?

@Dontlosehopemoms that's a tricky one if they have found no signs of pregnancy. It could, however, mean that you were further along in the MC process and had passed most of it? I couldn't say for certain as it's a strange one. Either way I'm really sorry for your loss. Take time for yourself 💐

@nearly8 Thank you for your response.❤️ Does the bleeding look like MC though. I have no idea how it looks as I've never experienced it before.

If they can't see anything at 8 weeks then most definitely you are not pregnant I'm sorry. It's possible that the actual mc started earlier than 8 weeks and didn't actually start to bleed until the progesterone levels had fallen maybe a week or 2 later hence the bleeding starting then, and nothing to be seen on uss.

nearly8 · 21/02/2024 10:15

@Dontlosehopemoms it does to me, very similar to what I experienced with my losses, however I've never had an ectopic so haven't really got anything to compare it to. I'd get back to EPU and press them for more information as it will help you moving forward to get confirmation of whether it was MC or ectopic.

Yeah hopefully it's just that and not ectopic. I'm afraid of it.

Do you think it's possible of GP missing ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks if they weren't particularly focused on it. I think she's checked my uterus and ovaries cause I'm having pain all over but I did not mention pregnancy.

After MC was your uterus and ovaries slightly tender on touch or not really? I did a blood and urine test and nothing showed up but there must be a cause for it. I'm redoing urine test on tuesday...I'm really worried...

I would imagine that even if ectopic it has been a mc anyway so unlikely to cause any issues, you normally get told to repeat the pregnancy test in 2 weeks to check is negative

nearly8 · 21/02/2024 13:11

@Dontlosehopemoms no Hun I didn't have any tenderness. I wouldn't say you have retained products as you have stopped bleeding. It may be worth asking for another scan to see if there's another cause?

Sending you big hugs sweet 🤗

@Dontlosehopemoms hope you are ok sweet. Did you contact anyone about the tenderness you've been having? 💐💐

Yeah perhaps I'd have some symptoms by now if it was ectopic hopefully. Thank you lots. My gp wasn't aware of pregnancy though cause I came in for the pain and bleeding I had.

@nearly8 Hey dear. Thank you for checking on me. You are sweet.

Anyways to update you: this tuesday when I went to see my GP, I never mentioned pregnancy. I just told her about the issues I had. Then she performed pelvic scan and It felt painful. After that we did an transvaginal ultrasound and she said uterus seems good and there is no present cyst to be causing the issue. She said I might have some infection/inflamation, so the next morning I gave a quick sample of my urine and blood. After an hour they had results and she's said the blood was fine, but urine had some proteins present, which could probably be because I was still spotting when I did that test. She asked me to repeat an urine test next week on tuesday as well and then we will see. Thing is I find it weird that I feel pressure in my uterus when laying on my back, I also start to feel uncomfortable when I bend over. I feel like my pelvis area is swollen as well. The bleeding stopped though, but I find it weird that the pain is still persistent in my uterus when in certain position. Perhaps something must be enlarged down there. I'm worried that when I repeat my urine test and if nothing is found, she just lets me be. But it's not normal to feel this way. It can cause complications on long term, and that is my concern. Perhaps when I call her for results, I have to insist on figuring out why I feel the pressure. It does get slightly better after emptying the bladder but still, this is not normal. I hope all is well with you tbh. ❤️

@Dontlosehopemoms oh dear sweet that sounds rough. I think it was a good idea not to mention the pregnancy in the first instance as they will naturally look for other causes. If it comes back clear maybe throw the curve ball at that point. Don't let them fob you off though Hun. You're clearly in pain/uncomfortable and it's not something you should a) ignore or b) have to put up with. Hope you don't mind but I did a quick Google search and two things popped up. Imbalance in the pelvic floor muscles and endometriosis. Specifically with endometriosis it said the pain can get worse when lying down. Maybe mention it when you go back. Sorry if I've put you on edge. I have a love hate relationship with Dr Google 🤣🤣 but I have found it useful when dealing with health professionals who seem to brush of things that are clearly apparent.

Hope you get some answers soon sweet. Try to enjoy your day best you can 💐💐

@nearly8 Hopefully something shows up so we can heal it... If it's gonna be clear, I'll definitely insist on her giving me something... here if you want to see a specialist, you have to wait for years LITERALLY to get in the line, unless you go private but then you gotta pay. It's true health is important and some hard consequences aren't redo-able. I guess for now I'll wait til tuesday... Yeah I always check google too. If you know how to use it properly, you can find out so much. Of course you need a proper diagnosis to see if it's true cause sometimes alot of causes can have very similar symptoms. I did check myself too what it could be... tbh idk if it's any of these two, but never know. I read it's kind of hard to diagnose endrometritis, it's doable by surgery... and also it's not curable on top of that. I don't think I have painful or heavy periods though. Usually about light-medium, with almost no pain. I assume my last bleeding was cause of MC, but I never will know for sure cause I never took a pregnancy test.

Almost two weeks after conception I had mild bleeding in dark brown color which lasted for about 2 days. I also felt nauseous, and my nausea lasted for over a week after that bleeding stoped. I noticed swelling in my breast area and tenderness, fullness, breast got bigger and it lasted for weeks. That's also when I started feeling this pressure in my pelvis, and I was bloated, however didn't experience constipation. I felt discomfort in my stomach, and pressure & I didn't feel comfortable sitting. Alot of clothes started feeling tighter and tighter. So I started wearing loose clothes. I also felt fatigue, extreme thirst and hunger, frequent urination, moodyness and I developed that bump in your gums that pregnant women often get. I also felt constantly as if your belly is stretching, like it's gonna burst, similar as to when you are blowing a balloon. Idk how to describe it but I never ever felt something like this before.

After 4 weeks I got this weird bleeding that firstly started as light pink spotting that progressed into bright red bleeding with few clots but it's interesting. After I passed those clots, I started feeling less pain. Now all of the symptoms are kinda gone, except feeling thirsty, a bit bloated still, and this pressure when laying on my back. Cause when I lay on the side, I don't feel it. So based on google It could of been MC, and that maybe caused slight discomfort or PID. Again we will never know for sure, unless I take PT now, it should probably have a faint line if I actually was pregnant but then also what's the point cause now I'm definitely not anymore. I do need to figure out though if I have PID, and get treatment for it. I try to stay hydrated to clear it out & I also rest alot. It does feel slightly better right now, maybe it just needs time...Idk... I also broke up with the guy now, so it's amazing but it's better now than waiting. He should of been there for me. Whatever. It's hard to find a decent person nowadays.

@Dontlosehopemoms aww sweet he definitely wasn't the right one. As hard as it is to go through you will find the right one. Just focus on yourself for now and take as much time as you need. You can always message me or reply on here I'm here anytime for a hand hold or if you need to vent. A PT would at least signify if there is any HCG left in your system. Sorry it's not been straightforward for you. Its shit enough as it is without the worry of complications. I hope Tuesday starts you in the right direction. Look after yourself this weekend darling 💐💐
