Retained tissue/ RPOC bleeding

Hi everyone. Just looking for a bit of insight. I have retained tissue so had surgical management on the 6th. Following this I had a scan 2 days ago so a week after the surgery and they confirmed there is still something there. Lots of Vascularity but couldn't be sure if it was tissue or blood clots ( TMI - sorry!), I was due to have a hysteroscopy today to remove the tissue but it was cancelled because they think it's too soon after the surgical management last week.

All the bleeding has stopped but I wondered if anyone had a similar experience of the bleeding stopping completely but still had retained products/tissue?

The tests are still positive and it's been 4 weeks in total but they are fading. I'm probably rambling but wondered if anyone had a similar experience of no bleeding but still had retained products. Thank you.

Hey I had a scan showing just blood clots remaining - I hadn’t had surgery at this point. I was still getting positive tests although they were fading and was bleeding on and off, I actually thought it had all stopped a few times. About two/three weeks after scan I started bleeding very heavy and turns out the scan must have missed something and so I had to have surgery to remove what was still left. The day after the surgery the tests were really faint and a few days after negative. I would keep an eye on the tests and keep on at the hospital if you don’t feel something is right - that’s what I should have done!

@Lilann thank you. I had a second lot of surgery booked in but now they won't even see me until the 5th March for a scan. Very frustrating and emotionally drained from it all

@Unreliablenightmare that does seem quite a long time to wait. I felt that the hospital was very dismissive of my symptoms. Would definitely kept an eye on the tests and keep on at them. They told me that I didn’t need to go back after the scan and that things would settle in time but obviously not and now I’m still recovering from the massive blood loss - only had the surgery 5 weeks ago. Hope everything settles down for you. It’s is so draining and frustrating and my hormones are still all over the place. I can’t wait for things to go back to normal.

@Lilann thanks so much. They don't understand the emotional consequences of it all. They told me to be nil by mouth and I'd be having a hysteroscopy but cancelled it last minute telling me I shouldn't have anaesthetic so soon. I just want my body back to normal and want to stop seeing positive tests. You just can't mentally move on until the physical side is finished. Sadly not my first experience of retained tissue.

I'm so sorry you've had a rough time and hope you feel more settled soon. 💗

I had MC on 2/2 I bleed for a few days and had negative tests. I still haven’t had a period so called the EPU and they scanned me yesterday and said they could see a 12mm retained tissue. They don’t know if from MC or new. My bloods were less than 1 so not pregnant. I am back Monday and they are going to do full bloods and put me on progesterone to see if that kicks starts my cycle and passes what’s retained. If not I will need to have a D&C. They talked about a camera in womb to see what’s going on also.

i haven’t had any bleeding but have had cramps on and off which I just assumed was my period coming.
