I have a scan tomorrow due to still having pain & bleeding 10 weeks later. I’m wondering if anyone has been in the same situation & what the outcome was?

CadyEastman · 13/02/2024 11:01

I've not had a scan for that but just wanted to offer a handhold Flowers

Friedseasalt · 13/02/2024 12:40

@CadyEastman thank you

Anyone?

@Friedseasalt I've never had the same but didn't want to read and run. I would say from what I've read on here that you may have retained products as the bleeding and cramping would suggest your body trying to expel something. I think it is quite common having retained products but it's usually picked up a lot sooner than 10 weeks. Again I'm only speaking from what I've read on here but sending you hugs for tomorrow 💐

nearly8 · 18/02/2024 22:35

@Friedseasalt What was the outcome Hun. Hope you are ok. Sending you hugs 💐💐

Friedseasalt · 19/02/2024 09:00

@nearly8 showed a clot and still some retained product which is crazy. They have said that they are confident that it will come away naturally, so fingers crossed! Thanks for checking in

@Friedseasalt Ah bless you Hun. Well that's good that you've got an answer and I'm glad that you don't have to have any medical intervention for it. As shitty as it is at least you can draw a line under it once this passes. Do you know if you're TTC again soon?
Hope you get to enjoy the sun today, try and smile too 💐💐

Friedseasalt · 19/02/2024 11:25

@nearly8 Yes I'm glad I have answers and like you said once this final bit is over I can try to move on! So much has happened, I just want to forget it all. Would love to TTC asap just worried it goes wrong again 😣Thank you so much for the support!

@Friedseasalt don't mention it Hun we're all in this together. I have the anxiety too but if we don't try then we don't know. If you do get your BFP go back to EPU for support, they should be able to give your early scans if and when you want them. Feel free to message me if you want to. I hope you are doing ok today x

nearly8 · 20/02/2024 14:59

@Friedseasalt how are you doing today?

Friedseasalt · 20/02/2024 15:25

@nearly8 a lot more pain and bleeding today not sure if the internal examinations got things moving along. Although I’m not sure how I’m meant to know when it’s all away..

OP posts:
nearly8 · 20/02/2024 16:36

@Friedseasalt I've never had retained product but I would imagine it's not that different from MC in that you have to expel the same thing. I would say that once the bleeding slows down and the pain stops then you're on the home straight my darling. If you're still in pain tomorrow I'd phone EPU back. Big hugs to you sweet, it's really shitty but at least you can move forward once this is over 💐💐

Olika · 20/02/2024 16:48

When I had my MC I knew all had come out after I stopped bleeding and having cramps, felt normal.

Friedseasalt · 20/02/2024 16:52

@nearly8 i hope so, it’s been so long it’s mental and physical torture. Just want to thank you so much for checking in & offering support it really does mean a lot as I’m not quite sure a lot of people understand how shit it is. Have you conceived after a loss before?

OP posts:
Friedseasalt · 20/02/2024 16:54

@Olika thank you, it’s been 11/12 weeks now since I had medical management and passed the majority (resulting in haemorrhaging) so just trying to get the last part of retained product out. I guess when the bleeding stops it will all be over. Hope you are okay.

@Friedseasalt like I said sweet don't mention it. We're all in this together. Sometimes only people who have experienced the same can understand. Feel free to msg anytime. Even if you just want to vent. Sometimes it can really help to let it all out.

Yes I've conceived since I've had losses but none have gone term. Had my first loss 09/03/23 8 weeks 2nd one 31/08 6 weeks and last one 31/01 6 weeks. I haven't gone super crazy tracking ovulation and cycles etc as I know it would drive me crazy. Tried after my first loss and every time AF arrived I was broken so stopped focusing on it so much and let nature take its course. I do already have children (a huge blessing I am so grateful for) so maybe it doesn't sting quite as much as women who are yet to have children but it's still pretty brutal especially as I've already done it a few times so why is it all going wrong now? I am 37 now though and maybe my eggs aren't what they used to be but who knows?

How about you? You don't have to share but what's your history?

If you feel anything isn't quite right always get back onto EPU.

Look after yourself 💐💐

Friedseasalt · 21/02/2024 09:40

@nearly8 things have settled down for me a little bit this morning in terms of bleeding so I’m having a better day. Hoping that this is the end of it all🙏has been a horrific few months.

I have a little one born in 2020 then was on depo injection. Until Feb 23, was “tracking” using the FLO app but nothing crazy. Loss 13/12 9 weeks. I was discharged with the pill which they keep pressuring me to take, not sure why? My DS will be 4 soon don’t want a huge age gap but not overly fussed. As I have a massive age gap between myself and my siblings.

nearly8 · 21/02/2024 10:11

@Friedseasalt glad to hear things are getting better Hun 😘

Don't know why they gave you the pill either I'd forget that haha. I had a baby 2020 too. COVID was an awful time as well. My DD was born 10/03/20 she was due the 20th but I think she knew I didn't want to get caught in a locked down hospital so she forced entry to the world haha she was transverse so ended up having an emergency C-section but once lockdown happened I was soooooo pleased she did lol.

Keep hopeful and try not to pressure yourself. Hard when you're trying to erase the shitty experience we've had I know but if you ever need to let off steam my inbox is always open sweet.

💐💐

nearly8 · 22/02/2024 13:03

@Friedseasalt how are you today Hun? 😘

nearly8 · 23/02/2024 07:16

@Friedseasalt hope you're ok sweet 💐💐

Friedseasalt · 23/02/2024 11:16

@nearly8 sorry I didn't get back to you! I'm just returning to work now after everything and feeling so exhausted. Covid was awful I agree. Was very odd being in hospital myself for 5 days then dad allowed for birth then sent straight home - didn't even manage a shower! How was the C-section recovery? If I do have another I am petrified of haemorrhaging again.

OP posts:
nearly8 · 23/02/2024 19:16

@Friedseasalt oh don't worry Hun I know what you mean I've been on a split shift today, 14 hours in total I'm knackered already and still got 5 hours left!! I actually recovered quite quickly and easily from the C-section. It felt much better once I had the staples out!! I was out of the hospital within 19 hours as I recover better at home. No real complications and the good thing about lockdown was I could take it pretty easy lol. i could be wrong but if you've already had a haemorrhage you are monitored more because of it so it shouldn't be too big a worry. I could be wrong though.

Hope you are having a nice relaxing evening 💐💐

nearly8 · 24/02/2024 20:48

@Friedseasalt hope you are feeling ok today sweet 💐💐
