How soon did you successfully conceive after the miscarriage?

I am 34 and had a miscarriage last month. MIdwife said to wait a month before trying again. Finding it really hard to wait and jumping to try again.

So how long after the miscarriage did you successfully conceive?

I’m sorry for your loss.

As far as I’m aware there’s no reason you have to wait until your next cycle, many women go on to have successful pregnancies straight away. It can make it harder to date any eventual pregnancy, but if you’re using ovulation tests that should help.

Wishing you all the best 💐

I'd be interested to see too. The nurse told me last week that it's only for dating purposes they advise to wait a cycle but you'd have a rough idea anyway.

3 months

5 months then miscarried again took a year and a half after that. I now have a 9 week old.

I miscarried on the 2nd Feb and already trying. I only bled a couple of days was a complete miscarriage. Baby stopped growing at 5+5 had scan miscarried next day. Ovulation test say I’m high now so good to go. Not expecting it to happen this month but I’ve made some changes as I’m over 40

I was told to try as soon as I was ready.

I conceived a couple of weeks later - dated as if the loss (very early) was the first day of my period and dates worked out the same.
I think the reasons to wait are mostly emotional. Surely with early pregnancy tests and 12 week scans you’ll work out the dates anyway.

Now in my tww. I’m not expecting it to happen this month. But we shall see.

Nine months later after the first one. We lost that one too, then another via IVF. My current (successful so far!) pregnancy was conceived the month after the IVF loss with no period in between.

@PinkDaffodil2 did you have surgery with your MC? And was it a successful pregnancy when you got pregnant straight away? My partner is hesitant to try straight away as the doctor advised to wait a couple of cycles for everything to settle but I don't think I want to do that.

nearly8 · 17/02/2024 15:24

@Plumbibii I had my first MC 09/03/23 caught again end of June only to MC again 31/08/23 then caught again just before Christmas and MC again 31/01. I didn't track ovulation or anything I just left it up to nature. I do already have children which just makes the MCs all the more frustrating as there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it. Sorry to you all for your losses. Be kind to yourselves 💐💐

I waited for my next period before TTC and then conceived straight away in my first month of trying. I mostly waited this one month because I didn’t want to be in doubt about my dates and whether a positive test could still be from the miscarriage.

@Mads101 if it helps I fell pregnant 4 cycles later and now have a 9 month old.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I miscarried in July, it took a month for the miscarriage to complete. Got my period back in September and got pregnant after that first cycle. I was told I didn’t need to wait but if I did wait one cycle it would make dating the pregnancy easier.
